“I have faith that the Moon Goddess will bring her back to us, just like she had brought her to

us the first time.”

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Cash shaking his head back and forth, telling me that something was on his mind, and he wasn’t liking what I had said. Of course, with Cash, he had to analyze everything that came out of my mouth, and I had to wonder what he found upsetting about my choice of words.

But he didn’t leave me to wonder too long, as he says to me, “Death is what brought her to us the first time. She was so broken, and we had barely scratched the surface helping her heal, before all hell broke loose here. I don’t even want to think what all of this is mentally doing to

her right now. She has to be scared, and alone, not quite understanding what is happening to her. Honestly, just the thought of the pain she has to be going through is killing me, especially knowing that if I was with her now, I could be taking it away.”

My heart instantly felt heavy, as I felt the same weight on my shoulders, knowing that Raven could very well be in pain. But I wanted to believe that whatever Lexi had given her was still working, and that if it had started to wear off, she would hopefully give her something else to take away the pain.

Feeling the need to ease my brother’s pain, I said to him, “I have to believe that Raven is okay. I can’t allow myself to think that she is suffering. I know that Lexi is a hired witch, but I want to believe that she cares about Raven and that she wouldn’t allow her to just lay there in pain. Plus, don’t forget that Mazie is there with her too, and we both know that Mazie will do everything in her power to keep Raven safe.”

This time, Cash nodded his head, and I knew that there was one thing that I had said that we could both easily agree upon. “You’re right. I have to trust that Mazie will keep her safe.”

My hand moved at that moment to pat him on the knee, wanting him to know that we were in this together, but as my hand touched his kneecap, something began to happen before our eyes. Simultaneously, we both move to stand, as we stare straight ahead of us, looking at what looks like a glitch in the matrix.

A swirl of colors begins to swarm in the air, causing the wind to pick up, forming what looks like a mini tornado. But as I tried to adjust my eyes, I noticed that it wasn’t the only thing that had begun to form, as something within the circle was beginning to solidify. As the object began to form, it didn’t take me long to realize that the house was finally reappearing.

With the house beginning to appear, Cash moved to take a step towards it, obviously eager to get to our mate. But as I stared straight ahead at it, I found myself questioning if this was

really real, or if the damn witch was playing a game with us. Not knowing if I trusted what was happening, I reached out and stopped Cash from taking another step forward, as I now worried that this could be some kind of trap.

Cash instantly tried to shrug me away, but I held tightly onto his arm, as I stood there watching the wind slowly begin to die down. It wasn’t until it fully dissipated did I let go of his arm, taking a step right alongside him towards the house.

But the two of us both came to a complete halt when the door to the house flew open and Jacob came rushing out the front door acting all hysterical, making me believe that something majorly bad had happened.

To my surprise, the jack ass came running straight towards my brother and me, but when he realized that the two of us were standing before him buck ass naked, he paused in mid-step as his eyes wondered directly south. His mouth instantly formed into an O, before he turned around, covering his eyes, but not before he had got his fill.

“Oh my God. I am so sorry. Do you always run around naked like this…” His mouth continued, as he sounded a bit nervous, but him feeling uncomfortable about my brother and my nakedness was the least of my damn worries right now.

Stepping forward, I slapped him across the back of the head as I walked past him, while ! asked him, “Where the hell is Raven?”

I was just getting ready to step up onto the front porch when Jacob called out to me, “She made a jump for it, hours ago.”

My eyebrows furrowed as I turned to look at Jacob, wondering what the hell he meant by saying she had made a jump for it. But I didn’t get the chance to even say a word before Cash was on him.

“What the hell do you mean by she made a jump for it?” Cash asks him through gritted teeth, and to be honest, this is the first time I had ever seen my brother this worked up.

Jacob lets out what sounds like a damn whimper, making it very clear that he was frightened by Cash, but right now he should be lucky that it was Cash and not myself asking the questions, because my patience was already running thin.

“I don’t know.” Jacob then said, but Cash went to take a step towards Jacob, not accepting his answer.

Jacob’s body instantly flinched and began to tense up, as he moved to cower, while he says, ” Mazie and Raven just jumped straight out the front door into what looked like a black freaking hole of nothing.”

“What the hell do you mean?” Cash asks him while a low growl slips from his lips, before he grabs Jacob by the shoulders and begins to shake him, while he asks him, “Where is Raven?”

“Please don’t hurt me. I would tell you if I knew.” Cried from Jacob’s lips, leading me to believe that he was telling the truth, but I wasn’t accepting that answer.

I knew that there was one person still left in the house that knew, and I was going to get the answer straight from her lips. But as I run inside the house, ready to do whatever it took to the witch to get our mate back, I find the house completely empty.

A low growl rumbled from deep within my chest, as I wondered where the hell this damn witch had disappeared to. By the sounds of things, Raven had taken her destiny into her own hands, and I just prayed that she didn’t make a mistake by doing so, as I knew that the clock was ticking.
