Cash’s POV

The call went straight to a busy signal, making me hang up and try again, but as I pressed send again, the same damn thing happened. My nerves were now on edge, as I felt like I had just missed my one and only opportunity to get her back.

My gut was telling me if I had just rushed up the stairs just a tab bit quicker, I would be on my way right now to wherever she was, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, because when it came to the two of us, nothing seemed to be easy. It was as if I was up against the world and the Gods were against us, not allowing the fated bond between us to flourish like it naturally should, but I wasn’t going to allow something or someone to stand in my way of

what is fated to be mine.

Unfortunately, right now, though, I have no clue what the hell to do to find her, as the phone call continuously goes straight to a busy signal. Frustration fills me as I close my eyes, trying to take deep breaths to calm myself, but I find that my patience is wearing quite thinly after everything that has happened.

Raven had finally come around to accepting me, and the moment we had shared the other night during her heat made me feel even closer to her. But that moment was short-lived, as it was interrupted by the witch Lexi, who I believe is one hundred percent responsible for Raven’s disappearance right now.

The mere thought makes a low growl slip from my lips, as I think to myself that she better find her if she wants to live, because right now, I am determined if anything happens to Raven, I will hunt Lexi to the ends of this earth to make her pay.

Losing myself to the darkness, I barely heard Jacob ask, “Do you have a laptop I can use?”

It wasn’t until my grandmother placed her hand on my back, did I fully come back to the present. Shaking away all negative thoughts from my head, I finally turned to Jacob and nodded before I said, “I have one in my room.”

Typing in the number of the satellite phone that had called, Jacob says to me before he hits enter, “This should show us the coordinates of the last call made from this phone number.”

Leaning over his shoulder, I watched closely as his finger pressed enter, while the map on the screen zooms in directly to the United States, straight to the East Coast. For a moment, I thought that just maybe Raven was back in Beaumont, but then a red dot appeared on the map, showing us that the call had come from West Virginia.

“What the bloody hell?” Came from my lips, as I leaned even more over Jacob’s shoulder, trying to pinpoint exactly where the call had come from, and sure enough it was in the middle of God’s country, with no civilization in sight.

Running his finger over the mouse, Jacob somehow turns the map into an aerial view of the territory, showing us that it was in the middle of the damn mountain range. But as he continued to zoom in, I couldn’t help but stay glued to the screen, having hope that he might

find her.

Unfortunately, the satellite was unable to zoom in close enough to actually see people, but the one thing that it was able to let us see was what looked like hundreds of tents set up in a circle in a clearing of the forest. Instantly, I began to rack my brain, trying to think of a reason there would be so many tents in the middle of nowhere, thinking that this couldn’t be humans, especially with the way they were precisely placed.
