Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 310

Chapter 155-1

Cash’s POV

How did you find me?Mazie asked nervously, as she lowered her head, and I quickly realized it was because she was ashamed to look me in the eyes.

It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why she had lowered her gaze as this was the second time now that I had found her safe out of harm’s way. There was no doubt in my mind that she was feeling like a failure at this moment in protecting her Luna.

My eyes narrowed as I now stared at her, not even giving her question a second thought, as I had only one thing on my mind right now. So, instead of wasting time answering useless questions, I cut right to the chase and asked Mazie, Where the hell is Raven?

Mazie gazed up at me for just a split second, but in that brief moment, I could see tears forming in her eyes before she quickly lowered her gaze once again, as she began to shake her head, while she says to me, I’m not quite sure.

A growl rumbled in my chest, while I tried to hold back my mix of emotions towards her. Mazie had once again failed me as my Beta, but it wasn’t just me that she had failed again, she had failed to protect her Luna at all costs.

I’m sorry. I tried to keep her safe.Mazie said apologetically just above a whisper, as her hand hesitantly reached out towards me.

It was clear that she was trying to comfort me, but I took a step back from her just before the tips of her fingers could reach me. The look of hurt now filled Mazie’s eyes, but it was quickly replaced by something else, as she lowers her hand and takes her own step back, while her head begins to shake.

Letting out what sounded like a growl of frustration, Mazie turned the tables on me by asking me, And where the hell have you been all this time? You nor your brothers did a damn thing to find her until now.

Mazie was right, all I had done was sit in the opening where Ms. Wilson’s house once sat, wallowing in my sorrows, waiting and praying for a damn miracle to happen, when I should have been doing something, anything to get Raven back. As if Mazie had spoken her peace to me, and she was done with the conversation, she turned on her heels, heading right back out of the medical tent.

At that moment, I realized that I was being hard once again on her, but before I could even think about going after her, the doctor stopped me by saying, You have it all wrong. She almost drowned saving her friend. She is lucky to still be here with us. As for her friend, who I

now presume is your mate, she took off last night with Carl, leading a rogue wolf away from our camp.

My eyes narrowed as I just stared at him, wondering first off who the hell this Carl was, but also wondering why Raven would once again put her life in danger. But then I realized this was Raven we were talking about, and I knew exactly why she had done it.

Just like back in Beaumont at the school when Raven saw all the chaos and dismay, she rode right into battle on my wolf’s back, not giving it even a second thought, as she wanted to protect those that she cared about. There was no doubt in my mind that she selfishly took off with this Carl in the hopes of leading the rogue away from all these innocent people to protect them.

Unfortunately, by doing so, Raven once again put her life in direct danger, and after seeing all the blood and the remnants of an accident, I was more worried than ever about her wellbeing, as it seems that no one has a clue about her whereabouts. Plus, Raven was with a complete stranger, someone I honestly didn’t know if I could trust, and I had to wonder where the hell he had taken her, since it was his scent that I smelt more predominantly over hers.
