Chapter 163-2
Thankfully, I was way ahead of Mazie, and I didn’t think there was a chance at this point for her to beat me to him. But as I tightened my grip around the steering wheel, and I braced myself for the impact, another wolf came out of nowhere, slamming right into the side of the rogue Alpha, making me turn the steering wheel just in the nick of time to miss them both.
Immediately, I took my foot off the gas, pressing firmly down on the brake, as I was losing control of the vehicle, but thankfully, unlike last night, I was in an open clearing, free of large trees in my way. The only problem was, this sport utility vehicle’s steering was tighter than the one last night, and I found it hard to steer it away from the small buildings surrounding the cabin.
At that moment, I felt like I was in one of those damn video games, like the one where you run over a banana peel, losing control and spinning all over the place. Thankfully, I didn’t have the vehicle spinning, but as for trying to get it back under control, I was doing some massive maneuver skills I didn’t know I had in me to avoid the outhouse, which we were heading straight for.
“Hit the brakes!” Jacob now yelled at me, as his eyes looked like they were ready to bug right the hell out of his head.
Unfortunately, I already had my foot all the way to the floor, and if I pressed any damn harder, I was probably going to bust the petal. Thankfully, his words must have been heard as prayers, because the vehicle began to slow down, making the steering wheel finally stop pulling away from me just enough, that I was able to take back control of the vehicle.
A sigh of relief could be heard not only from myself, but from Jacob too, as the vehicle slowly came to a halt, just missing the outhouse. But that moment of relief was short–lived, especially when the collage of growls filled the air, making not only me turn to look back, but Jacob too, to see two wolves in the middle of a massive scuffle.
My eyes squinted, as I tried focusing on the wolf that had come out of nowhere, knowing that he had to be a friend and not a foe, because he was clearly attacking the rogue Alpha on his own. But as I stared at the wolf, immersed in the altercation, it didn’t take long before Mazie tried to jump in to help, leading me to believe she knew this wolf.
Unfortunately, her wolf was tossed to the side quickly, and before I knew what the hell was happening, the group of rogue wolves that had been chasing me, were now heading straight for Mazie, whose wolf was trying to get back on its feet.
As I threw the vehicle in reverse, knowing that I had to get to Mazie’s side, Jacob says, “I can’t believe he found us.” Making me turn my head to look at him, wondering what the hell he was

But as my eyes moved back to the two massive wolves battling it out, I noticed the silver fur, and an instant recognition took over me. I knew that it either had to be Cash or Chase, but by the way, Mazie rushed right to his aid, there was no doubt in my mind that wolf belonged to Cash. Honestly, I had no clue how the hell he had found me, hundreds of miles away from Beaumont, but here he was, coming to rescue me like the knight in shining armor he was.
Throwing the vehicle in gear, I spun it right around, before I floored it, straight towards Mazie, as the rogue wolves rushed towards her. With the pedal to the metal once again, I looked between Mazie and the rogues, as I leaned forward, begging for this thing to go faster.
“Umm Raven.” Jacob says out loud, as his hand reaches over, wrapping around my forearm, before tightening his hold, as his head stays turned to the side, looking straight at the rogue wolves gunning it right in our direction.
