Chapter 166-3
Pulling my sweatshirt over my head, I moved it to my leg without looking, and began to wrap it around it, hiding the sight from my eyes, before I turned my head to tie it off as tight as I could to stop the bleeding. I knew that it was by no means a permanent fix, but I was hoping that it might buy me some time, to figure out how to get the hell out of here.
“Why don’t you just do us both a favor and come out, so that we don’t have to make this a complete bloodbath.” He then said, before the surrounding foliage began to sway slightly, as if he was trying to burrow his way in like I had.
I had no clue what he meant by making it a complete bloodbath, because if you ask me, too much blood had already been shed. But thankfully, I had him away from my friends, and with any luck, the four of them would decide to get the hell out of here and save their own lives. Unfortunately, I knew that was a long shot, because Cash was clearly hurt, and Mazie and Carl had their hands full of fighting off the pack of rogues, which led me to wonder where the hell Lexi was now.
If there ever was an opportunity for her to prove that our friendship was real and that I wasn’t just a job to her, now would be the time, but she would have to do a hell of a lot more than just save my ass. She would need to not only save me but also save all those that I care deeply about, and then just maybe I might believe her.
Unfortunately, it was clear that wasn’t going to happen, because she had a one–track mind back there. Hell, she saw Jacob in the state he was in, and it didn’t even phase her, making me wonder if she was heartless too.
A low growl once again filled the surrounding air, and it was clear that I had pissed off this rogue Alpha cousin of mine by running and hiding from him. Sounds now of the foliage cracking began to accompany his growl, while the surrounding foliage began to shake uncontrollably.
Looking all around, I looked for a way out, but unfortunately, I found myself trapped, as the tunnel that had led me here was the only entrance to where I sat. Trying my best, I scooted my butt back while I dragged my leg on the ground, leaving a trail of blood in its path, as my wound was already seeping through the sweatshirt.
My eyes focused on the small tunnel in front of me, as it slowly was being broken down, leading me to realize that I no longer had to fear slowly bleeding out, because my cousin was about to help the process along at any moment. But just as I thought that, I heard a familiar howl, stilling everything, even my heart, as I listened to what was to come next.
