Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 34

Chapter21-1

Chance’s POV

I stood in the school parking lot, leaning against my truck, talking to a few of my pack members as we were waiting for our mates to finish with practice. A few of the members tried to ruffle my feathers about wanting Raven as my Luna over Jessica, but I quickly put them in their place. Raven might not be one of us, but I was not one to refuse the Moon Goddess’s wishes or blessings

Our pack had suffered over my father’s reign as Alpha, with losing his twin brother, and having to take my mother as his mate, since he never found his fated mate, but I was going to change all that misfortune, starting with Raven. I knew that Cash was on board taking her as our mate, but Chase, that was a different story.

Jessica had her claws dug so deep into him, I didn’t know if we were going to be able to save him, but two Alphas joined with the same Luna, was better than one. Our pack had always had twin Alphas, and somehow this time, my mother produced three heirs, making me believe that the Moon Goddess knew one would go astray. Regardless of whether we got Chase on board or not, we were going to be stronger as long as we could convince Raven to accept both Cash and I as her mates, but first, I had to open her eyes slowly to our world and not scare her away.

I would have thought it would have been Cash that she would go for first, as he was the easy-going one out of the three of us, with the most empathy and human-like emotions, but it turns out, our mate was just

as broken as I was, and she liked a little challenge. Of course, I wasn’t upset that she had chosen me first

over him, as it was fated for her to do so. I thought since she was a mere human, she would be

standoffish towards me because of my rough exterior, but somehow, she had found a way to make me open my heart to her, leading me to feel things I haven’t felt before.

As the doors to the school opened, and the she wolves of the pack began to appear, I pushed off my truck, standing tall with the anticipation of seeing Raven appear, but as the she wolves continued to walk out of the school, Raven was not among them. Jessica was the last one to exit the school, glaring straight at me, giving me her famous smirk as she walked towards her car, as if she was up to something.

Stopping Leah on her way to her mate, I asked her, “Do you by chance know where Raven is?”

Looking back at the school, Leah says to me, “I think she stayed behind with Tonya to help her.” But as Leah tells me this, my eyes land on Tonya getting into a car with her mother, telling me Raven was no longer with her.

Instantly, I had a feeling in my gut that something wasn’t right, making me take off towards the school, now in fear that Jessica had done something to her. As I raced down the hallways towards the she wolves’ locker room, I could hear Raven’s screams for help, with the sound of someone pounding on

metal.

It wasn’t until I got to the she wolves’ locker room’s door, did I realize that it was Raven pounding on the door for help. I could sense her extreme fear from behind the door, telling me that I needed to get to her,

but pa tried to open the door. I found it lacked.

“Raven, get back!” I yelled out to her, hoping that her human ears would hear me through the door Thankfully, she must have heard me, because the pounding on the door stopped, and I gave it a few seconds for her to get back, before I lowered my shoulder, rarming it into the door. But the damn door was made from metal, and I was only leaving indents where my shoulder had hit it, as the door was barely budging.
