Chapter21-2

I stepped back, before I began to Risk it, calling upon rny wolf to give me strength, as I watched the hinges begin to break free from the wall. The sound of a growl now coming from inside the locker room told me now what had Raven so scared, but I knew it couldn’t be a student inside that locker room with her, because it was forbidden to shift on school grounds.

Raven’s fear was now not the only fear present, as I feared that a rogue was in there with her, because it was the only thing that made sense to me. But what I couldn’t comprehend was why a rogue would be attacking a human, and not one of the she wolves of our pack. Raven wasn’t even of age yet, leaving me unable to mark her as my mate, making none of this, making a bit of sense to me.

Raven’s screams once again filled my ears, making my wolf come forward just enough that with my next kick to the door the hinges broke free. Grabbing ahold of the handle, I nudged the door just enough so that I could get my hands around the door on the side where the hinges were, so that I could pry it open.

As I continued to pry on the door, I heard the lock begin to give away, and with my last pry of desperation, the door finally gave free, as I let it fall to the floor, with a loud thud. Light from the hallway beamed into the locker room, and my eyes quickly spotted Raven cowering in a corner, with her face covered, shivering

in fear.

Quickly, I glanced around the locker room, as I sniffed at the air, hoping that I could catch the scent of

whatever was in here, but unfortunately, all I could smell was Raven’s fear mixed with her sweet scent of

honey, calling out to me. Rushing to her side, knowing that whatever was in here with her was gone, I knelt

beside her, scooping her up into my arms, as tears flowed freely down her face.

“I got you.” I told her, as I got to my feet, carrying her out of the locker room, wanting to get her as far away from here as possible, not knowing if her attacker was still lurking in the darkness.

Her head snuggled into the crook of my neck, while her arms held tightly onto me, as I carried her out of the school, not putting her down until I had her in the passenger seat of my truck. But even as I sat her down, her arms remained tightly around my neck, as if she was too scared to let go.

This wasn’t how I wanted to introduce her into our world, and I feared that this might leave a horrific imprint in her mind, scaring her from ever excepting me for who I am. It made me wonder if Jessica was behind all of this, and if I found out she was, she was going to pay dearly for it, whether she was my

brother’s choice for a mate or not.

Knowing that I needed to calm Raven down, I ran my hands through her hair, as I said to her, “You’re safe now. I have you. There’s nothing that is here that can hurt you.”

Her hold slowly began to loosen, as she realized that she was in my truck, and that I had her, but as she slightly pulled away, I could see her tear-filled eyes still full of fear. As she began to sniffle back the tears, knew that I had to ask her what had happened, and I dreaded hearing her response, as I knew that she was going to portray my kind as monsters.

But as tasked her what had happened, she shook her head, telling me, “I don’t know what happened 1 yu635 I just got scared” Makinig me wonder if she was toe afraid to tell me what she had seen, or better yet, she wasn’t able to see what was stalking her in the darkness of the locker room

Whichever the case may be, I knew this incident was going to have an impact on her, and I just pray that it doesn’t affect her ability to accept me and the pack when she finds out the truth about who I am, and what she really is to me.
