Chapter 173-1
Chapter 171-1
Raven’s POV
I had to believe that it was Mazie now that had the death wish, because even after clearly seeing the barrier of rogue wolves directly in front of her, she didn’t slow down her charge towards us one bit. Instead, she let out one hell of a growl, with her eyes completely focused on the rogue wolf that had just bowed in front of me, like she was challenging him.
Pushing my way through the massive beasts that stood between us, I tried my best to intercept her before she did something foolish and got herself killed, but unfortunately, I wasn’t quite fast enough to do so. By the time I stepped clear of the line of rogue wolves, Mazie and the larger rogue had collided with a force similar to being hit by a freight train, as I swear, I could hear the impact before I witnessed the end of it with my own two eyes.
A gasp slipped from my lips, as I watched the two of them roll a good twenty yards from where I stood, but to my surprise, Mazie’s wolf came out on top somehow, even though she wasn’t quite as big as her opponent. Her wolf was relentless as her canines quickly went to work, ripping and tearing at whatever she could sink them into, while her claws penetrated deep into the rogue wolf’s flesh, making him whimper out in pain.
Unfortunately, that didn’t stop him from fighting back, as Mazie too was also suffering damaging blows from his claws. Tears began to form in my eyes, as I watched Mazie’s wolf’s beautiful coat become saturated with the thick crimson shade of blood that was now seeping from not just the rogue’s flesh but hers too.
Honestly, I was at a loss about what to do, as there was no way in hell that I was going to be able to break the two of them apart, especially with the way they were throwing each other around like rag dolls. But I knew that if I let this go on any further, then there was a good chance that I might just lose my best friend.
Stupidly, I yelled out at the two of them to stop this craziness, because, the way I saw it, the battle was over since the rogue Alpha was dead, but neither of them acted as if they heard me. Instead, my pleas to stop somehow were reciprocated by them as an act of cheering or egging them on, while they both let out another growl while they rolled further away from me.
This time though, Mazie’s wolf was beginning to lose steam, as there was no doubt in my mind that it was from the fact that she had been fighting for her life for what felt like a good hour now. It was clear that the rogue wolf didn’t care and took advantage of this by taking the upper position on her, nailing her wolf to the ground beneath him. A series of whimpers now came from Mazie’s wolf’s lips, which were putting me on the edge, as I tried to think of something I could do to help her.
Chapter 121-1
Unfortunately, something told me if I interfered in their duel that these rogue wolves standing around me would turn on me in a heartbeat, but I just couldn’t stand here watching her wolf get mauled like that. Looking down at my bloodstained hand, the one that had killed my cousin, I stared at it, willing it to grow claws or anything, so that I had something to help me stop this. But nothing happened, leaving me to believe that I was going crazy for just thinking
that it could.
Feeling hopeless, I lowered my hand and began to look around for something to once again use as a weapon, but unfortunately, my luck had run out. For heaven’s sake, I was standing in the middle of a clearing in the woods, but somehow there wasn’t even a damn broken branch thick enough to use as a weapon in my sight.
Looking behind me, I thought about pushing my way back through the rogue wolves towards where all the foliage had caved in, knowing that there had to be something that I could use there. But as I turned around and thought about it, there was no way of dismissing that I had over a dozen rogue wolves with their eyes on me. Noticing this, I knew there was no way they were going to let me pass back through, especially when they noticed a pointy object in my
hand.
