Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 372

Chapter 181-2

Immediately, I noticed the look of irritation plaguing Chance’s face, as he turned and glared at me in disbelief, while I stood my ground, crossing my arms over my chest. I could tell by the small twitch in his neck that he was refraining himself from just throwing me over his shoulder and carrying me out of here, but I’m sure he knew if he did, the trust we had built between us would be forever severed.

So instead, the two of us just stood there, staring into each other’s eyes, like we were in some kind of standoff, with neither of us willing to blink. Instantly, I felt something begin to rumble deep within me, and it was taking every ounce of strength I had to swallow down this feeling.

But unfortunately, the longer we stood there with neither one of us willing to budge, the harder it became to hold back this rumble. Before I knew what was happening, I was trying to keep my mouth shut, by biting down hard on my bottom lip, but unfortunately, that barely worked to muffle the low growl that radiated from deep within my chest.

Chance’s eyes for the first time blinked before they widened, as he stared at me with a whole new look on his face. But I could only imagine the look on my own face right now, as I was sure that my bulging eyes had to be tattletaling my own surprise.

Moving my hand to my mouth, I covered it, trying to muffle the low growl that continued to come from deep within me, while I felt the other part of me begin to stir restlessly inside of me, like a hungry wolf. It was taking every ounce of strength I now had to keep this feeling from taking over, especially when Chance foolishly steps towards me.

My heart began to beat heavily in my chest as Chance leaned down, placing his head near the crook of my neck. Instantly, I felt Chance’s warm breath tantalizing my delicate flesh, before I felt him taking in a deep inhale.

I wasn’t a fool, and I knew exactly what he was doing, because even with my best efforts in trying to hold back my other side from showing a piece of herself, there was no use. But as Chance’s warm breath continued to tantalize my flesh, that growl slowly turned into a fullblown purr, while heat instantly began to build once again in my core, making me close my eyes as I took in a deep breath.

Jesus, I felt like I was losing control of my own body, as my hormones were all over the damn place. One minute, I wanted to bite Chance’s head off and stand my ground against him, and then in the next minute, I wanted to jump his bones. But I didn’t dare to allow myself to go down the latter of the two paths, at least not right now, because even though I was losing control, I was thankfully still thinking for myself,

Chapter 181-2

Listening to that little voice in the back of my mind, I took two deep breaths trying to pull myself together, before I opened my eyes to see Chance standing in front of me with his mouth ajar like he was about to say something. I waited, giving him the chance to speak, but strangely enough, Chance closed his mouth and narrowed his eyes, while he remained speechless, just staring at me like the wheels in his head were turning.

Seconds passed before Chance reopened his mouth, and this time words finally came from his lips. Raven, I think we had this wrong this whole time.

Now it was my turn to look at him with a blank stare, wondering what on Earth he could possibly be talking about. But he didn’t give me much time to think about it, before he grabbed me by the hand and began to lead me down the stairs, while he mumbled something over his shoulder at me about my wolf.

Honestly, I had no clue what the hell he was talking about, as I was still new to this whole wolf thing, but the part that I did actually understand left me no longer protesting leaving this house with him. I now had a million different questions running through my head, and I knew there were only a few people left alive that could answer them, one of them being his father.

Mia Lynn

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers throughout my recovery. Each and every one of them were very much appreciated. You all have my apologies for the delay. My surgery didn’t go as planned, leaving me with post opt issues. Thankfully, I am no longer on medications that deter me from being able to write. Although it is taking me longer to write a chapter, I hope to bring weekly chapters your way, finally bringing this story back to life.
