Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 373

Chapter 182-1

Chance’s POV

How hadn’t I noticed this dramatic change in Raven’s scent until now? I had been too focused on damning myself for not being there for her when she needed me the most that I clearly had overlooked what was in front of me.

Never in a million years would I have imagined that Raven’s wolf would already be showing itself, especially since we were all told that all three of us brothers would have to mark her first. But by the looks of things, that clearly was untrue, as Raven’s Alpha wolf just stood its ground against me, very much making its presence known.

The obvious show of dominance by her wolf made me realize that we had clearly missed something vital when it came to Raven. She was definitely different than her mother and her grandmother, making me wonder how this could possibly be, but as I drove my truck towards the foot of the mountain that my uncle’s cabin had remained hidden for all these years, I realized that we knew nothing about Raven’s father.

This whole time we all assumed that he was human, since Raven’s mother had run from our lives here, but something was now telling me that wasn’t the case, because Raven’s wolf seemed to be far stronger than her lineage before her. It seemed as if her mother hadn’t been the only one that kept secrets from her, as I was sure that her father had to have some kind of supernatural power of his own.

Raven cried out my name, drawing my attention from my thoughts, as I turned to look at her, grabbing hold of the old shit bar to steady herself in the seat next to me. I didn’t realize how crazy I had been driving, trying to get her to safety, until now. With my truck on two wheels, I took my foot off the gas pedal, bringing the truck back down on all four wheels, as I turned onto the main highway that led north, away from town.

Seeing the fear in Raven’s eyes, I slowed down, as I reached over to place my one hand on her thigh, wanting to let her know that I got this. But as I placed my hand on her, I instantly could feel her trembling, and I honestly didn’t know what to do to comfort her in this moment, because I didn’t know if it was my driving that had her so frightened or the crazy ass situation we were in.

Knowing that there was nothing I could say or do to make this any better for her, I just squeezed her thigh, letting her know that I was here for her, and that I was going to protect her at all costs. But that small gesture I knew wasn’t enough to ease the stress she was feeling, and if truth be told, right now, I needed to be questioning her about her father, so that I could try and piece together what the hell was happening to her

Chapter 182-1

Unfortunately, I knew just the mention of her father at this moment was probably enough to send her over the edge, but honestly, I needed some answers, especially if I was going to be able to protect her. These rogue Alphas were absolutely being ruthless when it came to wanting to get their hands on her. It made me wonder why they seemed more threatened by

Raven than those born before her of her bloodline.

I mean, I knew that they had come after her mother, but after her mother had left town, they seemed to have left her alone, along with our pack and territory. As for her grandmother and those before her, they must not have seen any of them as a threat, due to the fact that whatever kind of curse that was put on the family had worked all those years.

But Raven, she was special, and they weren’t going to stop seeking her like they had her mother, as she was attacked just a few days ago in another state, making me believe that there was something more special about her than we knew. It had to be so much more than the fact that she had the blood of the Rogue Alpha King running through her veins.
