Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 375

Chapter 183-1

Chance’s POV

The last image embedded in my mind before I was abruptly ripped from Raven was her fragile body lying battered inside the cab of the truck. It was exactly what I needed to see to enrage my wolf, as the fight of my life was about to happen.

Desperately, I reached out to my brothers for help, hoping that one of them would hear me, knowing damn straight that I couldn’t protect Raven and fight all these rogues at the same time. In the back of my mind, I knew Cash would be the only one that would come to my aid, as Chase had been missing in action since the night Raven went into heat.

But as I projected the last image of Raven to my brothers, I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming feeling take over me. It was as if my feelings were enhanced to the point that I thought I was going to lose complete control, which by the number of rogues surrounding me, this was exactly what I needed if I was going to protect Raven and make it out of here

alive.

Getting to my feet, I began counting the number of rogues that had me surrounded, before looking at the night sky to pinpoint my precise location. I was outnumbered at least thirty to one from what I had been able to see, but I knew that I only needed to hold them off until backup arrived.

Honestly, I don’t know if it was because Cash had marked our mate, or if it was because my wolf could feel the urgency of the situation we were in, but either way, I felt a tad bit more connected to Cash than normal. His words, Hold on brother.came through our link just as if he was standing right next to me, giving me hope that he would be here soon to have not only my back, but also provide another line of protection for our mate.

With that thought, I couldn’t help but take one last glance over my shoulder, making sure none of the vermin were trying to pull Raven out of what was left of my truck, just like they done to me. Seeing that I was clearly their first target, I turned back to face my enemy, before one of them stepped towards me. My wolf instantly stepped forward to show his Alpha male dominance by letting out a low growl of protection towards our mate that shook the earth beneath our feet, but that masculine warning went unheard by these rogues.

With a deaf ear, they began to shift in unison, filling the darkness of the night with those damn beady red eyes of theirs. It was more than clear that my wolf’s warning to them meant nothing, especially as I watched them begin to form a circle around me, stalking me like f was some kind of damn prey.

Being the oldest of my brothers, I was thankfully blessed with patience, allowing me to just

stand there, keeping a level head, even though what I really wanted to do was put each and every damn one of them in their place. But unfortunately, that was going to have to wait a minute, because I needed to stall them for as long as I possibly could.

Normally, I wasn’t much for words, especially with an enemy like this on our territory, but with these damn rogues chopping at the bit nudging towards me, I decided to take a page from Cash’s book, hoping that it would work.

Raising my hands slowly above my head, I acted as if I was surrendering, while I said out loud, You got me boys.

For some reason, the rogues found no humor in my words or my clear attempt to stall them, as my attempt at Cash’s ability only seemed to fuel the fire. The circle of rogues quickly began to collapse in on me, while a series of low growls echoed through the valley.

What preservation I had left in me was dwindling fast, as I knew that time was quickly running out, but I didn’t realize how true that was until a loud pop sound came from in the direction of my truck. The loud sound caught not only my own attention, but the attention of all the rogues surrounding me, as we all turned to look in the direction it had come from.
