Chapter 184-1

Chase’s POV

“Well done young Alpha. You have proven yourself worthy… The Alpha rogue began to say to me, but I cut him off and snapped back at him, not allowing him to finish his sentence.

“We had a deal, now it is your turn to fulfill your promises.” I reminded him, as I prayed to the Moon Goddess that I hadn’t made a grave mistake.

I wasn’t doing this for his damn approval or to make myself look superior to my brothers. No, I was doing this because one of us had to, and I knew that I was the only one that could think clearly enough to do what needed to be done.

Honestly, I don’t know why I trusted this filthy animal, but what other options did any of us really have? It was clear that my brothers and I were in, way over our heads, and if my father and his brother couldn’t protect the pack all those years ago with our grandfathers‘ help, then we needed to take a different approach to ending this matter once and for all.

My father had already suffered enough at the hands of these rogues, and I knew neither he, nor my grandmother, would survive another loss. There was no doubt in my mind that this was exactly where we were heading, because even with the help of the pack, we were outnumbered, and even I could see that.

“I understand our alliance is unprecedented, but I can assure you that I will stick by my word. My Alpha King is very pleased and will honor the promises that were made.”

Even though he was once again giving me his word, it was hard for me to trust a rogue, especially since I had been taught all my life that they were ruthless. But something about this one was different, and for some reason I felt like I could trust him, but I needed him to fulfill the promises he had made to me. My brothers‘ lives were on the line and so was every single resident in Beaumont, and right now, I feel like this was our only hope to stop this madness.

“I hear your words, but it is the actions behind those words that prove to me, you are honorable.” I explained to him, as I crossed my arms over my chest, while I stood my ground in front of the closed door behind me, not allowing him, nor anyone else, to enter without my permission until he upholds his side of the deal. Even after that, I wasn’t sure if I could just step aside, but I guess we will see after he fulfills his promises.

“My men are already on their way, and I promise you that the other rogue Alphas‘ armies don’t stand a fighting chance against mine. We will take over your pack territory from them and hand it back to you on a silver platter, crowning you as the new Alpha for your cooperation.”

Chapter 184-1

I stared at the Alpha rogue blankly, wondering why on earth he needed my help in the first place if it was that easy for him to defeat the other rogue Alphas with just his mere army. If this was the case, then why hadn’t he just marched his army right onto my pack’s territory and take what he wanted for himself?

Why on earth did he need me and my help if this was the case? It wasn’t like I was the head Alpha to be of my pack. I was the youngest of three brothers, who was reminded daily that I was outnumbered by the older two.

Narrowing my eyes, I continued to stare at him, as his last promise had just registered with me, making me now wonder what his underlining agenda was, because there had to be more to all of this than meets the eyes. Was he thinking that I was a fool and that he could control me easier than my brothers? If that was the case, he was clearly mistaken, because I wasn’t one to take orders from anyone, especially him.
