Chapter 184-3
In the mix of my internal battle, the female doctor had gathered her belongings, and when she said to me, “There is nothing left here for me to do.” I could tell by the tone of her voice she just wanted to get out of here, and I honestly didn’t blame her, as I was sure that she had been plucked from some random hospital not by her will.
This time it was me that nodded my head, giving her the permission she needed to leave, as I remained standing there with my head down, still at war with myself with what I knew needed to be done. It wasn’t until I finally heard the door shut behind me, did I let the growl out that I had been holding back. I was hoping that it would alleviate some of the stress on my chest, but unfortunately, it did quite the opposite for me.
Honestly, I knew this wasn’t going to be easy, but I never in a million years imagined that it would be this hard. The rogue Alpha had given his word along with the word of the Rogue Alpha King that no harm would come from this, and that my pack would get the help we truly needed to stop this ongoing raging war with the other rogue Alphas. The offer sounded too good to be true, and I couldn’t walk away from it, but now that the plan was in full effect, 1 wasn’t so sure that I could fully go through with it.
A slight moan at that moment pulled me from my thoughts, and before I could stop myself, I looked up in the direction that it had come from. From this distance and the dim light of the room, I could barely make out the silhouette of the small body lying beneath a thin white sheet on the massive bed in the middle of the room. I did my best to look away before my eyes landed on her face, but it was too late.
Another moan came from her lips, calling out to me like a beacon, making my feet that were planted move for the first time since I entered the room. Slowly, I made my way towards the bed, as my eyes became fixated on her and my heart began to ache in my chest, while an overwhelming feeling took over me.
Her soft moans of pain slowly turned into a cry out for help, but unfortunately, those cries weren’t for me. Instead, it sounded like the faint resemblance of my brother’s name rolling from her lips, stopping me right in my steps.
I now stood only a foot from her bedside, which allowed me to look down and see her slightly battered face. Beyond the scratches and scrapes that remained on her delicate flesh, the lids of her eyes were squished together, as she looked like she was wincing in pain, while her lips were slightly parted, allowing the soft moans to flow freely from them.
Seeing her still in this battered state was killing me, and it was taking everything I had inside of me not to fully go to her, but it was clearly my brother that she was wanting in her need of comfort. Convincing myself of this. I looked away from her, closing my eyes one more time,

as I tried once again to gain my composure. But as I stood there taking long deep breaths, her scent began to engulf me, making it even more difficult for me.
Knowing that the only way I was going to regain myself was to leave the room, I went to take a step away from the bed, but as I did so, a small delicate hand wrapped around my wrist,
making me freeze right in my tracks.
I stood there frozen, not daring to turn around to look at her, until I heard her dry voice whisper, “Chase.”
