Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 392

Raven’s POV

Slamming the bathroom door behind me, I quickly moved to lock it but realized once again that good old Lexi had a sick sense of humor. It was clear that she was the one pulling all the strings here, leaving Chase and I to her mercy.

“Shit, shit, shitI mumbled under my breath, as I leaned forward and pressed my forehead against the door, not knowing now what I was going to do.

Raven.Muffled through the small crack beneath the door, almost sounding partially animalistic, before I noticed the door handle beginning to turn.

Turning, I pressed my back firmly against the door, while I planted my heels onto the cold tile floor, ready to use every ounce of strength I had in me to keep this door shut.

Leave me alone, Chase.I yelled back at him through the door, praying that by me saying his name that my demands would meet his ears, but I should have known that wasn’t going to suffice him or his wolf.

Instead of leaving me alone like I had asked him to do, he began to knock on the door, as he said to me, Let me in, Raven. I’m going to finish what you started.

Jesus, why did he have to say that? Just the mere thought was placing images in my head, along with sending an abundance of heat straight to my core, fueling the fire that had been lit there just seconds ago.

Leaning my head back, I swallowed hard, as I tried to hold back a whimper from the pain building in my abdomen. The first time I had felt this pain it almost killed me, but the last time, I thankfully had Cash to soothe it away.

Unfortunately, this time, I was locked in a room with Chase, who I knew had his preservation about claiming me as his mate, but as for his wolf, well, I realized that he would claim me for him if I allowed him to.

Fortunately for Chase, I was still in my right mindset, and I wouldn’t take advantage of him, even though it was clear that was what Lexi wanted me to do. Nah, I wouldn’t stoop that low, and I would somehow find another way to survive this without him, even if my last resort was passing out from the pain like I had done the first time.

The bathroom doorhandle once again began to shake, as a growl now rumbled from Chase on the other side, making it very clear that Chase’s wolf was the one most in control.

Chapter 192

Chase, I’m not going to tell you againI began to say to him but stopped when a lightning bolt of pain once again hit me, straight in the abdomen, forcing my body to slide to the floor, as I let out a whimper, I no longer could hold back.

Warm tears began to freely flow down my cheeks, while I held firmly onto my stomach area, praying to God that this pain would subside. But just as that prayer went out, a jolt of pain hit me, forcing my body to slump forward.

Raven, what the hell is going on in there?Chase asks, sounding more like himself, but this time, I could hear grave concern in his voice for me.

Sniffling back my tears, I tried thinking of an excuse to make him leave me alone, but my silence led him to once again question my wellbeing. Before I knew what was happening, the bathroom door behind me was being pushed slightly open, making me realize that my weight was no longer holding it shut.

Quickly, I scooched my butt back on the floor, throwing the weight of my upper half towards the door to shut it. But by doing so, I had slammed the back of my head right into it, causing stars to form behind my closed eyelids.

Great, not only was I in heat, but I had a massive headache forming, along with probably a damn concussion. But thankfully, the door was forcefully shut once again, keeping me safe from allowing Chase to make an irrational decision.

Unfortunately, that safety I was feeling only lasted for a second, as another growl came from within the bedroom. This time the growl was deeper than any of the ones before, telling me that I was too late to hide what was truly going on behind this closed door.

Sure enough, Chase’s voice rang out again, but this time, I couldn’t tell if it was him or his wolf, as it held not only concern in it, but desperation too, as he stated his demands for me to open the door at once.

Knowing that I wasn’t in any state to hold him off, I squinted my eyes tightly together, trying my hardest to rid myself of the stars I was still slightly seeing. When the stars finally dissipated, I opened my eyes and began to rapidly blink, trying now to wash away the blur that spotted my vision, while I could feel Chase cautiously pressing at the door for me to let

him in.

Unable to maintain holding the door shut, it slightly cracked open, allowing not only the scent of my heat to escape, but for his musky scent to seep into the smaller room, escalating the fire building inside of me. I had barely been holding on when I had entered this room, and now with his intoxicating scent encompassing my senses, I honestly don’t know if I am strong enough to resist my heat, along with the continuous pulsating bond between us

Chapter 192

I didn’t seem to be the only one that was now losing faith in my ability to stand my ground alone in this heat, as I felt my wolf begin to show her presence. There was no doubt in my mind that his scent, along with these crazy ass she wolf hormones were to blame for all of

this.

If I could have just locked the damn door and took a cold shower, everything would have been just peachy. But like I said, fate had other plans for both of us, and as for Lexi, I was now seeing she was the engineer driving this train of fate.

Knowing that I wasn’t strong enough to hold Chase off, as the door shimmied open more, I gave in and moved my body to the side, allowing fate this time to take the wheel.
