Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 397

Chapter 195-2

I began to instantly choke on the sip I had just taken, making Jacob begin to pat my back, while I now realized how he was here beside me. But I still didn’t know the why behind it, other than maybe Lexi thought he knew too much.

Besides that, none of it made a bit of sense to me, because Jacob was just a simple human being, and had nothing to really do with this whole damn situation. I seriously couldn’t wrap my head around why Lexi would have had Chase bring me here, along with her bringing Jacob here too, which made me now question, where the hell was Chase?

Last night, I saw with my own two eyes how this room was sealed like a damn tomb. But this morning, Chase was gone, and Jacob was here, freely moving around the room like he wasn’t worried one bit about our current situation.

Handing the cup of coffee back to Jacob, I looked him in the eyes, knowing he would never lie to me, especially to my face, before I asked him, Jacob, why did Lexi bring you here? And where is Chase?

Getting to his feet, Jacob gave me a look, and I knew by that look that he was contemplating on what to say to me, making me now question if Lexi had somehow gotten to him. But after everything Jacob and I had been through in West Virginia, I couldn’t believe that he would switch sides so easily.

Jacob went to open his mouth, but before he could say a single word to me, the door to the bedroom opened, making both of us turn to see no other than Lexi walking into the room.

I see our little princess is awake. She cockily said, before she came to a stop at the foot of the bed with a smirk on her face, while her eyes moved to the crook of my neck.

My hand instantly moved to the spot where I knew that both Cash and Chase’s mark rested, while I glared at her, wanting to know why we were all here. But Lexi didn’t give me the opportunity to question her.

Instead, she tossed a pair of pants and a shirt at me, before she says to me, Get dressed, there’s someone that wants to meet you.

A low growl rumbled from my chest, and I could feel my wolf more than I ever had before, now that I bored two of my matesmarks. All that now stood in my way of setting her free from the darkness of a curse that hid her from the world was Chance claiming me as his. Of all the brothers, I would have thought he would have been my first, but it seemed that fate had its way of keeping us apart lately.

Surprisingly, the smirk on Lexi’s face grew, as it was clear that Chase and I had given her

exactly what she wanted last night from us. I wanted to wipe that smirk right off her face and let her know that she didn’t have a damn thing to do with it, but a part of me knew that wasn’t true. I knew if it wasn’t for her trapping us in this room alone last night, Chase may never have accidentally let his guards down.

You’ve got ten minutes to get ready. We wouldn’t want you to keep our host waiting. She then said to me, as she turned on her heels, shutting the door behind her.

A scream bellowed from my lips, as I threw the damn clothes she had given me at the door, pissed that she thought she could tell me what to do. But in all honesty, I was beyond curious to know who this host was, as I wondered who had been paying her all this time.

Turning, I looked at Jacob, who had remained silent this whole time, wondering what he actually knew, as it was clear by the look on his face, he was keeping something from me.

Knowing that I only had ten minutes before Lexi returned, I grabbed ahold of Jacob’s arm, getting his full attention, before I said to him, I think it’s time you started singing like a bird.

Jacob swallowed hard as he looked down at me, and by the look now on his face, I knew there was a reason why Lexi had brought him here.
