Chapter 201-2
Realizing that I was on my own, I began to look around me for something that I could use as a weapon, but unfortunately, this part of the garden that I had stopped in was surrounded by nothing but dying red roses.
Turning my full attention back to the massive beast closing in on me, I realized that this meeting between the two of us was different than the first one. This time, I knew behind those red glowing eyes was a man and not just some feral wild animal out to eat me for his dinner.
Knowing this, I composed myself by taking a few deep breaths, before I moved to get back to my feet. Once I was standing, I decided it was now or never to confront the beast that has haunted my dreams since the day he made his presence known to me.
“What is it that you want from me?” I asked the rogue wolf, hoping that he would in return shift into his human form, so that I knew the face of the man behind the beast.
But my words seemed to fall short of his ears, because instead of acknowledging that I had just addressed him, he just continued to stalk towards me, making me question my ability to communicate with him.
My head now turned to my right and then to my left, looking for anything or anyone that could help me, as I found myself once again stumbling backwards, but this time with more caution. Panic and fear began to take over every ounce of my being, as my body began to heat from the inside out, making me feel like I was going to combust.
Honestly, this fire that was brewing inside of me felt slightly similar to my heat, but unlike my heat, it was surging out to every fiber of my being, as if every inch of my flesh was being poked by pins and needles. Biting down hard on my bottom lip, I tried to bear down on the pain, but with each second that passed, the burning sensation was becoming too much.
Unable to bear it another second, a scream bellowed from deep within me, echoing through the vacated garden like a desperate call for help. But just as I imagined, there was no one there to hear my cries, leaving my body to fully give into the pain.
Falling onto my knees, I leaned forward onto the ground, digging the tips of my fingers deep within the soil beneath them, while my breath became shallow and rapid. As if I could still feel the rogue’s glowing red eyes on me, I tried to lift my head to see his whereabouts, but as I did, I realized that my sight was blurred by the tears of pain I didn’t even know I had been shedding.
Fear like I never felt before encompassed me, as I frantically began to try and wipe my tears

away, but epically failed to do so. Instead, I had rubbed dirt particles right into my already swollen eyes, forcing me to close them, as I bit down on my bottom lip, trying to hide my pain.
Behind my closed lids, all I could see was the color red, making me believe that the rogue was now standing directly in front of me. But as I swung my hand out in front of me, trying to put some distance between us, my hand came up empty.
My breathing at that moment became unhitched, as I felt one of my panic attacks coming on, but this one was coming on much quicker than any of the ones I had beforehand. Plus, this one felt so much more heightened than the ones I was used to having.
The only explanation I could come up with was that I knew that I was as good as dead if I wasn’t able to pull my shit together, but how the hell was I supposed to do that when I couldn’t even stand? Besides that, where was I going to run to, when I couldn’t even see what the hell was right in front of me.
Heat out of nowhere now blistered across the crook of my neck, but it only took me a second to realize that it wasn’t coming from me. My body instantly froze, as I swallowed hard, realizing that the heat that I was feeling was actually the beast’s warm breath on my neck.
Tears began to pour down my heated cheeks, as I tried my best to hold my breath in fear of moving even an inch, knowing that the beast was now standing directly behind me. But as I tried to remain still, my flesh began to crawl, forcing a whimper to stray from my lips.
The beast’s breath at that moment moved up my neck, and straight to my ear, before he let out one long exhale on to my exposed flesh. Silence then took over, as I remained like a statue, too afraid to move.
But that silence only lasted for a few brief seconds, until the beast broke it by saying, “Don’t allow the darkness to win.”
