Chapter 225+…

Chapter 225-1

Chase’s POV

As if my words themselves held power, the bedroom door flew open, releasing my brother and I from another one of Lexi’s prison cells. With my eyes still on Lexi, I watched her body now slouch even deeper onto the couch, as her eyes widened while she realized at this very moment that her days of ruling beside her Alpha Rogue King were soon to be over.

The Alpha Rogue King was no longer in a state to be able to protect her, and without his protection, a witch in our world had no place. Fortunately for her right now, I don’t have the time to deal with her. But mark my words when this was all said and done, I would make sure that she receives payback for every little thing that she had done against me and Raven.

Letting out one last warning growl that I wasn’t to be tested, I turned on my heels and headed straight for the open door, while Lexi one last time tried to plead with me by saying, “Chase, please. Raven is the only one…” But I paid no attention to her damn pleads, as I was out the door before she could even finish her

sentence.

Cash and I didn’t even bother to wait until we had reached the exterior door before we shifted into our wolves, bulldozing over whatever was in our path, knowing that time was precious. We both had one thing on our minds, and that was finding Raven and our brother before the rogue’s army reached them.

But as we made our way out the front door, leaping from the top of the steps into the middle of the courtyard, I realized that total chaos had erupted among the Alpha Rogue King’s men. Freezing where my wolf stood, my eyes scouted the area, looking for signs of a commander, but Liam was nowhere in sight.

“Where the hell did he go?” I asked myself, as I wondered if he bolted under the pressure of what was coming. But then the sound of a howl filled the surrounding air coming from the North, telling me that he hadn’t abandoned us, but that he was heading to protect what was the most sacred to him.

Shit, I was once again caught between the crossfires of what I felt needed to be done. My heart wanted to run like the wind and find Raven and protect her with my life, but the Alpha wolf in me knew that if the Alpha Rogue King’s men fell today, what that would mean for Raven and all our futures.

I was now trying to convince myself that between Chance and Liam, Raven would be kept safe, and that I needed to once again do what I thought was necessary to protect our future. Last time I had clearly messed up, but even though I did, I feel that the Moon Goddess wanted me here right now at this place in time to set things right.

Making the decision to stay, I let out one hell of an Alpha’s growl, stopping everyone in their tracks, even my brother Cash, who had made his way to the gates. Slowly, the Alpha Rogue King’s men began to form a circle around me, while I shifted back into my human form, waiting for them to all gather around me to properly address them and prepare them for what was coming, as their Alpha, by default, in control.

When the majority of the men were gathered, I swallowed hard, knowing that what was about to come out of my mouth was going to be a speech that I was never to give. Chance was the oldest of us, and he was born to rule with Cash and I silently standing by his side. Being the third born, I was never born to stand in the middle, let alone be in charge like I was about to be today. A part of me never wanted this kind of responsibility, but another part of me did so that I could prove to everyone that I was worthy of my Alpha’s

blood.

Standing tall, I looked around at the warriors now gathered around me, waiting patiently for their orders, as the sound of the rogue army’s thunderous charge echoed into the valley of the estate. Seeing the fear in some of the men’s eyes, I knew I had to give them a reason to fight, or else this place would fall and so would all my hope of keeping Raven safe.
