I had noticed days ago that the rogues that dwelled here, were here on their own free will, an that they looked to be thriving under his protection like an actual pack of wolves, leading me to believe that there had still been good left in my grandfather, and maybe that was what Le: could see. But regardless of all the good he had done, in the end, the curse that had been placed on him had won.

Now, it was up to us to clean up the mess that so many of my ancestors before me couldn’t and I had to believe that we were all different than those before us, because fate had its han in it this time. I didn’t want to believe that everyone we loved that had lost their lives would have been in vain, nor was I going to allow it. Chance’s wolf signaled at that moment to mine, and without hesitation my wolf silently moved to his side, as we snuck up on the enemy’s army from behind. As we stepped out of the shadows of the forest, my eyes remained glued to the center of it all, on the Alpha Rogue who seemed to be measuring my brother up.

Following his line of sight, I turned my attention to Liam, who was somehow holding his own against the first line of warriors, but his wolf looked to be tiring, and I knew if Chase and Cash didn’t get here soon with my grandfather’s army, Liam would eventually fall. Seeing this, my wolf so desperately wanted to join him on the frontlines, but I knew that our position right now was what might just throw this whole thing off.

Chance’s wolf hesitated at that moment, stopping right behind the last row of rogues and at the edge of the cloud of darkness. Freezing in my tracks, I turned to look at his wolf, and I could instantly sense that he was worried and scared.

It was clear to me that his fear wasn’t stemming out of fear of stepping into battle, but it was for me and my safety. As if his thoughts became my own, I heard him saying a private prayer to his Moon Goddess, begging her to keep me safe above all others.

My heart swelled ten full from his words, knowing that his love for me ran that deep. As for me, my mates would walk through heaven and hell to make sure that I was kept safe, and each one of them had proven their love and loyalty to me in their own way. Now it was my turn to stand by them, and that was exactly what I was going to do.

The era of my family running from their curses was over, and a new dawn had arrived where I prayed that me being united with all my mates would allow me to prevail, ending both curses for good. But first, we had to live through tonight, and the only way to do that was to stand together, and fight to the death to end this evil curse of darkness once and for all.

With that being said, I waited for Chance’s signal, and when he gave it, I charged by his side, right into the rear line of defense, taking them off guard, as one by one the enemy began to fall at our hands. But our attack of surprise only lasted for a few seconds, before we had dozens of beady glowing red eyes on us.

Chance and I continued to fight side by side, making an impact at the rear of the battlefield, but with each rogue wolf that dropped, another one charged at us, making it seem like there was an endless supply of soldiers at the Alpha rogue’s disposal. Dropping another rogue, I took a second to glance towards the frontline, making sure that Liam was still hanging in there, but as my eyes moved through the army, they froze when they locked eyes with the ruthless Alpha rogue.

An instant sense of familiarity hit me like a ton of bricks, forcing me to stumble backwards, as I tried to piece together who the hell this rogue could possibly be.
