tedd hear the battle before i could even see it, as a mix of low growls and whimpers carried in the night’s cool breeze against our wolves’ fur, while we raced towards the black cloud that blanketed the northern forest. My wolf was restless and more than eager to join the fight, knowing that our mate was out here in these same exact woods.

After thinking we had lost her for the past couple of days, not only had my heart been broken but so had my will to live, but now knowing that she was alive, I was bound to do everything in my power to save her. That was why I had chosen to stay behind with Chase, and bring the Alpha Rogue King’s army, because I knew there was no way in hell that we were going to be able to defeat these bastards on our own.

Just like back in Beaumont, if it wasn’t for the rogues that had followed us back from West Virginia, we wouldn’t have stood a fighting chance against their numbers. But still, even with the Alpha Rogue King’s army, I still felt like we were shorthanded, and if I was being honest, we needed even more backup.

We needed to put a stop to this blasted curse and war, right here and now, on our enemy’s land, away from all our innocent lives back on our territory. In a way, I now understand why Chase came here. He had been trying to find an alternative way to defeat the Alpha rogues, but of course, he had fallen into a trap that we were thankfully here to set him free from.

I honestly had no clue what his agreement with the Alpha Rogue King was, but whatever it had been, it was now dust in the wind, as it was evident that the King didn’t have much more time here on Earth with us. Without the Alpha Rogue King, it was clear that this safe haven he had built for his people was going to fall. That was unless my brothers and I held the enemy off with the help of his army. But as we rounded the familiar bend to our previous war zone, with the Alpha Rogue King’s army in tow, my wolf almost froze at the massive rogue army awaiting us.

The size of this army was nothing like we had ever gone up against before, and by first glance my intuition had been right about being outnumbered. But what I didn’t expect to see was Liam’s wolf already successfully penetrating past the rogue army’s first line of defense, giving me hope that their numbers by the mass were nothing but a visual intimidation.

Without hesitation on Chase’s behalf, his wolf charged straight forward, taking out a few stragglers, before he joined Liam’s side, while the Alpha Rogue King’s army spread out, forming their own wall of defense, before they crashed right into the enemy’s army with a

But that thought got tossed to the side when I heard a low growl rumble the bloody soil earth Beneath my feet, drawing my attention to the center of the chaos, to a massive midnight Wack Alpha rogue wolf, standing directly in the middle of the army. To my surprise, his head was turned away from the attack that lay in my direction, making me wonder what the hell had his attention from behind him.

With my eyes glued onto the massive Alpha rogue, my wolf slowly stepped backwards, disappearing into the shadows of the forest. Once we knew that we had disappeared undetected, my wolf took off in stealth mode, trying to avoid attention, while he made a huge half moon around the eastern perimeter of the battlefield. It wasn’t until I heard a rather familiar growl, did my wolf finally come to a halt at the northern side of the battle.
