Chapter 230

Cash’s POV

The next few seconds felt like they were being played out in slow motion, as I watched the two Alphas flying high in the air. For a moment, I thought that they were Chance and Chase, but then I realized that these two were far more mature.

It wasn’t until they collided with the massive Alpha rogue, that the world once again began to spin at normal speed, but as it did, I realized that I was no longer alone in this fight.

“Miss me, jackass?” Mazie’s voice startled me as it rang out through our link, while her wolf charged into battle nudging my ass hard. Instantly, her wolf took a huge chunk out of a rogue, dropping his ass right to the ground, before she went to work on another one without hesitation.

But as for me, I stood there frozen, just staring at her in a damn state of shock, not believing that she was truly here beside me like in the good old days, until she said to me this time in good old Mazie style, “Are you just going to stand there and watch me do all the work?”

Damn, my beta was bossy as hell, but man was I happy to see her and the rest of the pack, as the rogue’s army line of defense was beginning to break now under the pressure of my pack backing me. But even though, together as a pack, we were making headway, and I was holding the point, I couldn’t stop my eyes from wandering back towards the center of it all, where my father and uncle were going head-to-head with that massive beast of an Alpha

rogue.

This was the first time in my life I had seen my father and uncle’s wolves standing side by side, and it was a sight to be told, as the two moved in battle like they were one. After all these years of my uncle isolating himself from the pack, playing dead, I never in a million years would have believed what I was seeing right now, but then again, this was the revenge he had been waiting for, for the past twenty-two years. But even seeing how in sync the two were, and how they were holding strong as a pair, they were still struggling to take down the Alpha rogue, and I could clearly see why.

Hanging directly above their heads, loomed that damn black mist, and in the center of it all, I could see small sparks of what looked like electrical current surging, as if it was fueling the beast beneath it. Seeing this, I knew that if we could eliminate the Alpha rogue source of power, even for a split second, we could give my father and uncle the small opening they needed to take down the massive beast.

“Hold point.” I commanded Mazie, as I turned around, searching for Raven, knowing that she was the only one that held the power to do this, but finding Raven through all this carnage

and chaos wasn’t going to be an easy task. Where she once stood directly behind me and my brother, she no longer did, and I found myself scrambling to find her.

It wasn’t until I moved to the edge of the battlefield, did my eyes land on her and Chance, both in their human forms. Thinking that something was majorly wrong, I rushed to their sides, as my eyes did a quick assessment of Raven’s body looking for signs of injuries, but I was quick to realize that what was happening to her wasn’t superficial.

Her hands were shaking as if she had seen a ghost, as tears poured from the corners of her eyes, while she looked straight past me towards the battle as she continued to say, “I can’t do this. This is too much for me.”

My eyes moved from the distraught Raven to Chance, hoping to get answers, but he seemed to know just as little as I did, as Raven seemed to be lost in what looked like pure fear. We should have known as her mates that this was too much for her too soon, but up until now, Raven had been fearless, making me wonder what truly was going on in that head of hers.

Looking back over my shoulder, my eyes moved to the center of it all once again, making sure that my father and uncle were still hanging in there, before my eyes wandered above them, seeing that the black mist was growing by the second. It was at that moment that I realized that it was feeding off the battle and the lost souls, fueling the massive beast, giving me little to no hope of winning this battle unless we severed its ties to the Alpha rogue.

Feeling hopeless, I turned back around and lowered myself onto one knee in front of Raven, taking her shaking hands into mine, while I stared right into her eyes, trying to reach her.” Raven, love, look at me.” I said to her, as I gave her hands a slight squeeze, drawing her eyes finally away from the battle and to me.

My heart instantly began to ache as I watched a tear fall from the corner of her eyes, before it slid all the way down her rosy, red cheek. At that moment, I wanted to wipe away all her tears and tell her that everything was going to be fine, but I knew I couldn’t lie to her. I honestly had no clue what the hell was going to happen, but what I did know was none of us were going down without a fight.

But first, I had to reach Raven and pull her back from whatever the hell had her so scared. Raven, I need you, love. I need you to reach down deep inside of you and find the strength to come back to me, because we can’t win this battle without you.”

Raven’s eyes drifted away from mine, looking back over my shoulder once again, as more tears poured from the corners of her eyes. For a moment, I thought I had lost her again, but then she sniffled back the tears and her eyes slowly moved back to mine, before she nodded her head, telling me she was with me.

But even though she was telling me that she was with me, there was something clearly still

weighing on her. But unfortunately, there wasn’t time to get to the bottom of it, because too
