Chapter 232-1

Raven’s POV

As if my wolf was just as pissed as I was from all the betrayal from those that I had trusted, she graciously came forward, wanting her own revenge for deceiving us both. This time, though, neither of us were going to allow anyone, especially him, to use us to make his next move.

With my eyes locked onto his wolf, I stood there for a moment, watching him battle it out against two other Alpha wolves, holding his own, but only because of the power that the darkness was giving him. Seeing this, my wolf raised her head to the moon, closing her eyes while allowing the little bit of beam that was slightly slipping through the small gap in the black clouds to graze on her face.

The wind at that moment shifted against my wolf’s back, ruffling her fur just enough to grant it permission to tickle my flesh beneath, awakening the power that lives within me. As that power begins to surge through my body, pulsating through my veins like an electrical current, I don’t fear it, but embrace it, knowing that it was the one thing that would set us all free.

Between my determination to make him pay, and my wolf’s need for revenge for all the wrongs that had been cast upon us, it was time for us to reenter this battle recharged. This time though, there was not going to be any sneaking into the battle or staying beside someone. Instead, I planned on taking this mother effer down, making him pay for all the hurt that he had caused me.

Feeling a hundred percent recharged, my wolf opened her eyes and let out a howl, but it wasn’t the kind of howl I had heard from any of the other wolves. It was a howl that was so loud that I swore

it could awaken our ancestors, and maybe that was exactly what my wolf wanted. But then her

head lowered, and our eyes instantly met with his, and if looks could kill, I’m sure he would be a

dead man.

“Raven..” My name cautiously slipped slowly from Cash’s lips as he stood there staring at me with

worry in his eyes.

My wolf’s eyes faltered for a second, stealing a glance of my mate who had stood by my side through thick and thin, and who had never used me even once to advance himself. Of all the people in my life, Cash was the realest of them all, and I’d be damned if I allowed this bastard to take another person I loved from me.

With that determination, I felt another gust of wind against my back, but this time it was stronger than the last one, making the fur on my neck stand from root to end. My wolf gave Cash a nod, as if to tell him everything was going to be alright, before we began to step past him with my eyes now glued back to the center of the battlefield.

My wolf nudged her body into him, thanking him for just being him, but as she showed him, her gratitude, Chance moves to my other side and says, “And I do too.”

It took everything at that moment not to get all mushy, seeing my mates now standing by my sides, but it was hard not to feel that way knowing that they both had my back. But as turned back to face the Alpha rogue that had caused all my damn pain, I couldn’t help but push that feeling aside, as all I now had on my mind was pay back. Turns out, he played my ass like a fiddle, and it was finally time to give him a piece of his own medicine.

A smirk at that moment began to form on my face, as I realized that he was the damn fool for secretly helping me release my wolf and the curse. He was stupid for thinking that I would just bow down to him, knowing that I held the power to stop him.

With the wind still against my back, I embraced the electrical surge of power now rapidly coursin through my veins, as I continued to soak in the energy of the moon. Honestly, I had no clue what the hell I was doing, as this power didn’t come with some ancient user’s manual, but my natural instincts were telling me to power up, so that was what I was going to do.

As I continued to draw energy from the moon, the wind began to pick up, and as it did, the dark cloud that plagued the night sky began to float away, allowing more of the moon’s beam to shine down on us. It honestly felt like I was somehow claiming the night, as the darkness that was once glooming over our heads began to retreat towards the inner circle of the battle, while my mates‘ pack members were pushing through the outer perimeter of his army like a force to be reckoned

with.

Unfortunately, I had no clue how Liam and Chase were holding up on the other side, but from what could see their line of defense was pushing forward, making me believe that they and my grandfather’s army were holding the line to the path to my grandfather’s crown. The only problem saw was that the heavens were opening on our side, but as for the other side of the battle, the darkness was still heavily glooming, making me fear that it might be growing in strength in their

direction.

Thinking that there was a possibility that I might hurt them, I decided I had better stop at where I was at, because even though I felt like I could take on more of the moon’s energy, I didn’t want to take the chance of hurting someone for even more power. As if Chance and Cash could sense what I was about to do, they shifted back into their wolf form, flanking me at both sides, while my eyes cautiously watched for an opening to blast his damn ass. But as the seconds ticked by, I realized that this wasn’t going to be an easy task, since there were two Alphas fighting him at once, leaving only the tiniest of a gap when one of them wasn’t on him.

As if my mates and I were on the same page, the three of us stepped forward towards the battle, knowing that we needed to get me closer if I wanted to get a direct hit, but there were so many rogue wolves that remained between us and him. Seeing this issue, Chance stepped slightly ahead of us, and let out a low growl, as if he was commanding orders to his pack members. Sure enough, the line of his pack warriors in front of us pushed forward, making a good six feet of headway, but there was still half of a football field of rogues that lay ahead of us.

Shit, by the looks of things, this was going to take us forever to make it to a safe distance, and

tire. Seeing this, I knew that I was going to have to take my chances, because if I tried to play it
