Chapter 243-1

Raven’s POV

By the time we had arrived for the football game, the school parking lot was completely packed, and cars extended from it the whole way down main street, towards the diner. I watched in silence as both visitors and our own spectators got out of their vehicles, raising their heads to the sky, before they began to howl.

My head, of course, curiously turned to look at Mazie, who nodded her head to me, before she said, ” Franklin Prep is an all-wolves school too. So, there is no need to hold back from making Jessica and her mother pay for what they have done.”

“That’s what I like to hear.” Lexi then said, looping her arms through both Mazie’s and mine, before the three of us walked towards the high school football field together.

Secretly, I was a bit nervous being here tonight, especially without any of my mates, after everything that has happened in the past couple of weeks. Honestly, none of us knew where the hell Jacob had taken off to, and for all I know, we weren’t the only ones planning our sweet revenge tonight.

But of course, I knew that I had always been a worry wart, and I wasn’t going to express my concerns and ruin being able to make Jessica and her mother pay. I needed this, but most of all, I could see that Lexi needed this more than me, especially after finding out that Mrs. Jacobs was involved with rogues and was a part of what happened in the past when her mother had lost her life. So, instead of ruining our plan of sweet revenge, I decided to keep all those worries I have to myself.

As we neared the line that was formed to enter the gates, the night’s cool breeze swept towards us, and I found myself turning in the direction it had come from, sensing that something was off, as I asked my two friends, “Do you feel that?”

“Feel what?” Lexi asked, as she turned her attention towards where mine was, looking directly at the building that houses the gymnasium and lockers.

“You are probably feeling all the male testosterone coming from the players. It’s a full moon tonight, elevating their male ego even more than it already surely is.” Mazie explains, as her and Lexi begin to laugh, before they brush it off to being nothing but just that, as they turn their attention back to standing in the line, dismissing all other possibilities.

I wanted to brush it off like they just had, but I couldn’t shake the eerie feeling I was now getting, as my eyes remained on the building. Honestly, I had no clue what the hell I thought I was going to see as I just stood there staring at the brick structure, like a damn fool. It wasn’t until the door opened, and a player from the opposing team stepped outside, did I finally look away, realizing that Mazie was right.

Clearly, I was on edge, but that was to be expected, since most of my rogue attacks happened here on these school grounds. But I needed to shake that worrisome feeling away, because tonight, we were the ones attacking.

Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath, washing away as much of the hesitation as I could, before I released that breath with a long exhale. Opening my eyes, I shook what hesitation remained, before I took another step forward in the line, slowly making our way towards the field. But before we could make it to the gates, Jessica and her cronies spotted me.

“Shit.” I said under my breath, loud enough to grab both Lexi’s and Mazie’s attention, as the three of us

turned to face Jessica and her posse of bitches.

“Look what the cat dragged in, ladies.” Jessica said to her posse, as she came to a halt right in front of us,

glaring straight at me, before she added, “It seems they even let the dogs out tonight.”

Her eyes then moved up and down my body, taking in the cheerleading uniform I was wearing, before she then said, “Do you really think that my mother is going to allow you to continue to be on the squad? You haven’t even been to school all week. I thought maybe you got the memo that nobody wanted you here and went back to the little hole that you crawled out of.”
