Chapter 31-1
Raven’s POV
“Oh wow. It’s beautiful.” I said, pulling back on the reins, bringing the horse to a stop, as I stared at the most majestic waterfall I had ever seen in real life.
Cash let out a half chuckle, getting off the horse, before he reached up to help me off, as he said to me, “I thought you might like it here.”
“Like it? I love it.” I told him as I walked toward the edge of the pool of water that lay at the foot of it, noticing how crystal clear the water looked. It reminded me of a waterfall you would see in a travel magazine that people pay top dollars to see, and here one was, hidden within the mountains of a small town known for absolutely nothing.
“I never imagined something this beautiful would be hidden within the mountains here. I’m surprised this isn’t some kind of tourist attraction.” I said to Cash, but as I turned around, Cash was now nowhere to be seen.
Looking around, I began to wonder where he could have disappeared to, because the horse was still there tied to a tree. Moving towards the horse, I took a quick glance into the woods for him, but there were no signs that he had gone that way.
The sound of a branch cracking drew not only my attention into the woods at that moment, but the horse let out a neigh, as her back leg began to kick to the ground, telling me that she heard it too. My heart began to race in my chest at that moment, thinking it was a bad idea to be out in the middle of the woods, knowing that thing could be lurking anywhere within Beaumont.
Another crack echoed from within the woods, drawing my attention towards the waterfall, as I yelled out, “Cash, this isn’t funny.” But instead of hearing Cash answer me, I was faced once again with the sound of something moving within the woods.
With my heart now rapidly beating in my chest, my eyes began to scan the terrain in front of me, looking for a sign of anything that could have possibly made the sound, when I spotted a slight movement towards the top of the waterfall on a cliff next to it. Stepping away from the horse, I moved back into the clearing towards the pool of water, as my head looked to the skies above, trying to make out the figure moving to the edge, while I tried to take long and steady breaths.
It wasn’t until the figure moved to the edge of the cliff, did I realize that it was Cash, standing at the very edge in only his boxers. My racing heart began to calm as I stared up at him, shielding my eyes with my hand from the sun so that I could get a better look at what the hell

he was doing up there.
Cash raised his hand in the air, as if he saw me gazing up at him, and I raised mine in response, as I yelled out to him, “What are you doing up there?” But Cash didn’t answer me with words, but with action, as he leaped off the edge and plummeted to the pool of water
below.
I watched in horror as his feet hit the water first, before the rest of his body disappeared beneath the water’s surface. I swore my heart stopped beating at that moment, as I moved even closer to the edge of the pool, counting the seconds that were passing with no signs of him resurfacing.
Kicking my shoes off, I began to strip my clothes off, down to my sports bra and panties, as I was getting ready to head into the pool of water after him, but as I stepped into the water, Cash surfaced from its depths. Pausing, I stood knee-deep in the water, staring out in the middle of the pool, as I took in a deep breath, not realizing that I had been holding it this whole time, while relief filled me that he was okay.
