Chapter 33-2
“So, you think in that demented mind of yours that I should have allowed the two of them to battle it out on that field today? If Jessica had won, what would it have proved?”
“It would have proven that she was strong enough to be our Luna.” He said through gritted teeth to me, and a growl rumbled from my chest, before I stepped nose to nose with him, as I said through gritted teeth back at him, “She will never be my Luna.”
“So, are you willing to risk what is left of this pack for a human? She is weak and broken. She will never survive as our Luna, and she will be the end of this pack’s existence. I knew from the moment that I met her that the two of you were going to be stricken by her, unable to control your urges to make her your Luna, but I won’t allow the temptation to stop me from doing what is best for this pack.”
I was beyond pissed at him right now, thinking that he thought he was above us with his precious Jessica, denying what our Moon Goddess had blessed us with. If he for one moment thought that Chance and I would ever take Jessica as our mate, he would be rudely mistaken and outnumbered.
“You can control your urges all you want, but that human is our mate. Rejecting her as your mate is denying our fate set forth by our Moon Goddess. If this pack fails, it will be because of you, for forsaking what was to be.”
Chase took a step back from me as his eyes narrowed, clearly not pleased that I was calling him out when it was fine for him to do it to me, but he needed to hear the truth. Jessica could pump him full of her lies and fairytales all she wants about him becoming the head Alpha of this pack, but before that could happen, he would have to get through Chance and I first, and I don’t think that’s a path he wants to go down.
“You’re wrong brother. The Moon Goddess hasn’t forsaken me, but instead she has forsaken you and Chance. You shall see when Raven comes of age, and I reject her as my mate. The Moon Goddess will bless me, and gift Jessica to me as my second chance mate, while you and Chance fail as Alphas with a weak Luna.”
I had enough of his babbling nonsense that I know Jessica has pumped him full of. If he thought that he was the first brother in this family that Jessica tried to dig her claws into, then he was delusional. Chance and I had kept it from him all these years that he was Jessica’s third choice, but now it was time to let him in on our little secret.
“I have news for you, little brother, that is never going to happen. Did you ever think to ask us why we despise Jessica so much?”

“Honestly, I don’t give a shit, why you guys don’t like her.” He told me, but in his eyes, I could tell that he was curious to know, and I was going to tell him whether he wanted to hear it or
not.
“Oh, but I think you will give a shit, especially when I tell you the truth.”
Crossing his arms over his chest, he leaned back against the railing on the porch nonchalantly, while he said to me, “Fine. Tell me why you despise Jessica so much, and why you think it will never happen. I’m all ears waiting to hear what bullshit you have to say to me to justify yourself.”
A growl rumbled from my chest towards him, pissed off that he thought I felt the need to justify myself, because that wasn’t what this was about. This was about him finally learning the truth about his dear Jessica.
“It’s time you realize that you are just a meal ticket to her.”
Uncrossing his arms, he stood up straight, as he said to me, “And here we go again with the meal ticket. I have already heard this from your lips a million times.” As he turned to walk away from me, but I stopped him when I said to him, “Yeah, but I never told you why. You think you’re the first one of us that Jessica offered herself to?”
He turned instantly to glare at me, grabbing his full attention as I finally said to him, “Hate to break it to you baby brother, but you were her third choice, and the only one of us stupid enough to fall for the games she is playing.”
Chase’s eyes flickered with anger over what I had finally admitted to him. He had always been short-tempered, unable to control his emotions, and right now it was no different from before, as his wolf began to show itself, while he let out a low growl warning me that he was ready to take this argument to the next level.
Pulling my shirt over my head, I tossed it on the chair, as I stepped off the porch, kicking my shoes off, before I said to him, “If you feel frisky enough to take me, then here I am, baby brother.”
Chase didn’t even give it another thought, as he jumped off the porch, and in one swift motion he shifted into his wolf, gearing straight towards me.
