Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 63

Clam

Chapter 36-1

Chase’s POV

Raven might have convinced my brothers that she was attacked by an Alpha rogue, but 1, on the other hand, wasn’t so convinced. Last night, when we had run the perimeter of our territory, there was no evidence of a rogue, let alone an Alpha rogue, leading me to wonder what game she was trying to play with my brothers.

With the two of them dealing with an issue with my father, I decided this was my chance to get Raven alone and see what she was truly up to, but the problem was getting Mazie away from her. Knowing that Cash would freak out if I told him that Raven and Mazie hadn’t arrived at school yet, I texted him, and sure enough, Mazie’s phone went off seconds later.

I waited patiently for Mazie to leave my sight, but as she did, Jessica began to walk down the hallway, and I knew I was going to miss my window to get Raven alone if I didn’t do something quickly. As Raven shut the door to her locker, I rushed up behind her, grabbing her by the arm, as I steered her into the janitor’s closet, while her head turned to look at me, as her eyes widened in what looked like a state of shock.

“What the hell are you doing, Chase?” She asked me, while the door to the janitor’s closet shut, leaving us in complete darkness, as her heart began to race, while fear radiated from

her.

Immediately, I felt my wolf beginning to lose his shit, as her sweet scent of honey began to take over all my senses, making me realize I shouldn’t have picked such a small space to confront her in.

Ripping her arm from my grasp, we both took a step back, while I grabbed ahold of whatever was behind me, as I tried to fight off the urges that were building fast inside of me towards her. Her scent had somehow enhanced since the last time I had been alone with her, making it almost impossible to resist the temptation.

“I can’t see a damn thing in here, Chase. This isn’t cool.” She says, but the thing was, I could, and I could see her beginning to move towards the door, but I couldn’t allow her to reach it, not until I was able to get some answers from her.

Letting go of what I had ahold of, I moved in front of her, stopping her from reaching the door, but also making her run straight into me, as her hand now laid flat against my chest. A growl rumbled from deep inside of me, making her quickly remove her hand, as she took a step back from me, while her fear continued to project from her.

With her voice now shaky, she says to me, “If this is about Jessica, I am sorry. I shouldn’t

have lost my temper, but I couldn’t continue to hear the hurtful things that her and her friends were saying.”

“This isn’t about Jessica.” I told her through gritted teeth, as I was becoming sick and tired of everyone blaming Jessica for their own problems.

“Then what is this about Chase?” She asks me while I watch her hold her book tightly to her chest, using it as a shield of protection from me.

It was clear she was afraid of me, which was what I wanted right now from her, so that she would tell me the truth. “I want to know what you told Mazie that attacked you in the girl’s locker room.”

“What?” She asked me, as if I stuttered and she didn’t understand my question.

“Don’t play stupid with me. Tell me what you told her.” I now demanded from her, as I wasn’t in the mood to play her games, and I wanted to get out of this closet with her sooner rather than later.

“What does it matter to you what I told her, unless you were involved?” She now says, trying to pin me involved in her so-called attack, making me begin to lose my patience with her, as it was taking everything in me to hold back my wolf as we were at odds with each other over

her.
