Chapter 36-2

Claim

Stepping forward, I grabbed her by the shoulders, losing my patience with her as I began to shake her, but a whimper came from her lips before I could force her to tell me the truth, while I saw tears forming in her eyes.

“Please don’t hurt me.” She cried out to me, as I watched her eyes squint together, while tears began to slowly seep from the corners of her closed eyes.

Releasing my hands from her shoulders, I took a step back from her, ashamed of myself for not only hurting her, but for also making her fear me, leading me to try a gentler approach to her. “I’m not going to hurt you. I just need to know what you saw.”

Raven began to sob, as she clinched onto the book tighter in her hands, before she said through her tears, “I honestly don’t know what I saw.”

“So, you are admitting that you lied to Mazie about what you seen?”

Her head began to shake back and forth, telling me no, but then she said to me, “If that is what you want me to say, then yes, I lied to her. I made up the whole story about the monster that tried to attack me to cover up the fact that I am crazy.”

I stood there staring at her, listening to her raging heart beating in her chest, but it didn’t skip a single beat as she spoke, telling me that she was lying to me. Normally, I would take this as someone telling me the truth, but she thought this was what I wanted to hear, which it was, but only if it was the truth.

“I don’t want you to lie to me. I want you to tell me the truth. What did you see?”

Raven began to sob, as if she was too scared to tell me the truth, making me step once again towards her, while I said to her, “Tell me Raven.” With a hint of authority in my tone this time.

Raven took a step back from me, finding herself pinned up against the wall with nowhere to go, as I had her cornered. Feeling the wall against her back, she leaned her head back against it, as she closed her eyes once again, before she said, “I honestly don’t know what it was. Can you please just let me go?”

I moved slowly towards her, only stopping when I was directly in front of her, before I leaned down and whispered into her ear, “I will, once you tell me the truth.” As I took a long inhale of her scent while I closed my eyes, savoring it.

The sound of Raven’s breath hitching was like music to my ears, knowing that my proximity to her was affecting her, as her sweet scent heightened, and the humming of the mate bond grew louder, like a damn broken record in my head. But I had her exactly where I wanted her,

knowing that I could use the way the bond was drawing her to me.

Leaning down, even closer to her, I skimmed the tip of my nose against the lobe of her ear faintly, as I softly whispered seductively into her ear, “Tell me princess, what is it that you saw?” Before I slowly exhaled my breath gently against the bare flesh of her neck, causing visual goosebumps to rise on her smooth delicate flesh.

I barely caught it, as she tried to hide it from me, but there was no denying the sound of the faint moan that slipped from her lips, as she was obviously fighting the pull of the mate bond between us. Knowing that she was on the edge of losing herself to me, I raised my hand to her face and ran the back of my fingers so delicately down the side of her cheek to her chin, making her tilt her head to the side, allowing my fingers to leave a trail down her neck.

My mouth began to water while I licked my lips, as her reactions to my touch were sending an overload of stimulation to my heightened senses, making it hard even for myself being this close to her. In my act of using our bond against her, I somehow got trapped in its hold, as I found myself leaning even closer to her, now rubbing the tip of my nose against hers, while holding her neck in the palm of my hand as I take in her essence with each breath that I

take.

“Chase, please.” Slips from those delectable lips of hers as a breathless whisper, calling out to my wolf within me, making the pull to her irresistible, as my lips now graze across hers, wanting nothing more now than to taste her.

Unable to control my urges any longer, I crash my lips against hers, taking in the even sweeter taste of her lips, putting her scent to shame. I was so caught up in the moment of lust for her that I didn’t realize that her lips weren’t responding the same way mine were. It wasn’t until I felt the pain of her biting down on my lip, causing the potent taste of iron to feel my taste buds did I realize she wasn’t under the spell of the bond, but it had been me that the bond had taken over.

Before I could come completely to my senses, Raven raised her knee, hitting me straight in my groin, making me step back from her while I crunched forward in pain. The door to the janitor’s closet then opened, shining the light from the hallways of the school inside, blinding me instantly, making me unable to immediately see who had opened the door.

But as I looked up from my crouched position towards Raven standing against the wall in front of me, with wide eyes and fear still present in them, I realized that I had made a grave mistake approaching her like this, especially when I saw my blood coating her lips.
