Chapter 37-2

Looking into the mirror, I looked at my neck, where a faint print of his hand marked my flesh, wondering too what exactly he had wanted from me. I was so confused by what had just happened, as it happened so quickly, that I wasn’t sure if he was playing games with me or if he truly was trying to seduce me into telling him what I had seen in the girl’s locker room. What I did know was, Chase was unstable, and he scared the living shit out of me, making me never want to be alone with him again, and I wondered if he was capable of pulling off what happened to me in the locker room.

Covering his handprint with my hair, I turned to face Mazie, as I leaned against the sink, before I said to her, “Honestly, I don’t know what he wanted. He kept asking me to tell him what I had seen in the locker room. Do you think that he could be somehow involved?”

A confused look forms on Mazie’s face, as she confesses, “Right now, I wouldn’t put anything past him, but if that was all a hoax by Chase, Chance and Cash are going to kill him.”

“I can’t say for sure that he was, but it was like he was really worried about what I had seen.”

“You know, I have always given him the benefit of the doubt, but I am starting to have my eyes opened to what he has truly become, and there’s no telling if he was involved or not. For all we know, Jessica and he could have plotted this whole damn thing.” Mazie says, agreeing with me that it could be possible, but it didn’t explain the story that my grandmother had told me about my mother seeing the same thing before she had left here.

The door to the girl’s restroom flew open at that moment, making us both turn our heads to see Jessica, followed by a couple of her friends walking in, as she said to me, “I thought I told you to stay in your lane. It seems you didn’t take my advice.”

“Are you deaf? Didn’t you hear her when she told Chase to leave her the hell alone?” Mazie says maliciously to Jessica, while she steps between us, as I pushed off the sink to stand behind her.

“Are you talking about that little stunt she just pulled to cover her tracks of getting caught trying to seduce Chase? Obviously, her efforts didn’t work, and he is still mine.” She says as she flips her hair over her shoulder before she turns to glare at me, while her eyes narrow.

I had had more than my share of her and Chase for the day, and I wasn’t in the mood to deal with her babbling nonsense, especially with the stunt that Chase just pulled on me. Jessica took the title of mean girl to a whole new level than I had ever witnessed before, and it was clear to me that she had ruled this school for far too long, and it was about damn time that someone put her in her place.

Pushing past Mazie, I stepped up to Jessica, not showing her an ounce of fear, as I said to her, “Feeling a little insecure in your relationship with Chase? Maybe you should, because you know if I hadn’t stopped him, there’s no telling what he would have done to me in that closet”

A fire began to burn in her eyes, telling me that I was getting under her skin, and I probably should have just left it at that, but my inner bitch was coming out since I had been pushed to my limits, and I couldn’t stop myself from saying, “Want to know what I think? I think he’s getting bored with you and wants something new and not so damn easy to play with. Hell, maybe next time, I just might play along and give him what he desires.”

Yep, that was all it took to push Jessica over the edge, as she pounced at me, but I knew that she would, because I had seen that same look on the field yesterday in her eyes right before she came at me, but today I was ready for her. As our bodies flew to the ground together, I made sure that today I was the one that landed on top, while I pinned her ass to the tile floor, as Mazie stepped behind us, blocking Jessica’s friends from interfering.

Pinning her hands now above her head, I shifted my weight so that she couldn’t roll us over, while all the pent-upped anger I had inside of me begged to be released. I honestly didn’t know what I had to do or say to make her understand that it would be a cold day in hell before I would be interested in Chase.

Gritting my teeth together, I said to her out of complete frustration and anger, “I’m so over this shit with you and Chase. Why would I want Chase when I have Chance and Cash?”

Jessica stopped fighting me at that moment, as her eyes widened, while I realized what I had just said, but before I could correct my error, the bathroom door flew open once again, as the word, “Enough!” echoed with authority through the room.
