Chapter 48-1
Raven’s POV
I felt like I was on edge all day, still wondering who had put my phone in my locker, as I found myself making everyone a suspect that looked at me. As the day went on, Jessica rose to the top of my suspect list, as I realized that her mother had access to all the combinations of the lockers in the school, but that would have to mean that she was in the cemetery last night.
Jessica didn’t remind me of the kind of girl that would spend her precious time paying her respects to those that had passed, and she definitely wasn’t the kind of girl that would hang out at the cemetery, leading me to believe if it was truly her, then she must have followed me. But if that was the case, then that would mean that she would have had to of seen me with the wolf, and I was sure by now that she would have spread that all over the school, twisting it that I was somehow involved with the attacks, even though I was the one to be attacked
twice.
Before the end of the day came, I realized that I was now beyond paranoid and needed to get the hell out of this town for the night with Chance, hopefully allowing myself to forget about everything that was happening here, even if it was just for a few hours for tonight.
After the final bell rang, I made sure once again that Mazie was going to be okay without me, before I headed out to the parking lot to meet Chance. Just like he had promised me, he was standing outside his truck waiting for me, with a small bouquet of wildflowers in his hand. When his eyes met mine, a smile formed on his face, and I couldn’t help but run to him, thankful that my day at school was finally over, along with the dreaded week I had.
“Are these for me?” I asked him, as he handed them to me, making me close my eyes and take a long inhale of their wonderful scents, mingling together, reminding me of an old perfume my mother used to wear.
But his response wasn’t what I was expecting to hear from him, as he says to me, “Cash thought you might like them.”
I froze in the middle of taking another inhale of their fragrance, wondering why on earth he would be bringing me flowers from Cash on our date, but most of all, making me think of Cash and how much I was missing him too.
Opening my eyes, I pulled the flowers away from my face, as I cleared my throat, and said, ” Please tell Cash it was very thoughtful of him, and that I love them.”
“He will be elated to hear that.” Chance then said, as he moved to the passenger door,

opening it for me, before he said, “Are you ready to leave this town in our rear view mirror for the night?”
“You have no clue.” I admitted to him as I got inside his truck, letting out a sigh of relief that we were finally getting out of here.
As Chance moved to get into the driver’s seat, my phone went off in my pocket, signaling I had a notification, causing him to turn and look at me, with a questioning look on his face, before he said to me, “I thought you said you left your phone at the library.”
“About that…” I began to say to him, as I let out a nervous chuckle, thinking that maybe I could, somewhat tell him the truth, but also keep out the whole cemetery part from him, and get his take on how it got in my locker, or should I say who put it in my locker.
With Chance still staring at me, waiting for an answer, I finally explained to him, “I found it in my locker at school after you left, but the crazy thing is, I remember having it with me at the library. I honestly don’t know how it got in my locker, especially since my locker was locked.”
