CHAPTER 32
The whole rest of the dinner was a little awkward. Luna Petra wanted to talk about the Grand Ball that she
was going to put on for me and I wasn’t looking forward to it at all. But it was tradition so I couldn’t really
say no to it.
I didn’t want a huge party like that centered around me. But I knew that Asher would be there by my side.
As soon as dinner was over Asher and I walked out the front of the packhouse and we were walking
around Luna Petra’s gardens while talking and Asher was holding my hand the whole time.
He knew that I wasn’t excited about the party but I knew that it was something that his mother really wanted to do for us, so I was going to let her take complete control of it.
Asher was still a little pissed at his dad for fighting with him on taking on more responsibilities.
Alpha Dennis only finally agreed to it when Luna Petra and I started agreeing that it was a good idea.
“I better get back inside. Dad wants to have that meeting now.” Asher said.
“Alright. I’m gonna head home.” I said.
“I don’t really want you walking home alone at night.” He said.
“Are you serious? They aren’t going to come anywhere near me inside the territory. And I’m not an i***t. I know you have guards watching me when you’re not around.” I said.
“Yeah. Well, we have to be really careful knowing that your parents are out there somewhere. They’ve
already had someone help them kill a guard.” He said.
“Asher. I’ll be fine. Just call me after the meeting and let me know how it goes.” I said.
“Alright. I’ll do that.” He said. So he kissed me gently and he walked back inside the packhouse while I
turned around and walked away towards town.
As soon as I got home I locked the door and I walked upstairs to my room where I got changed and I sat
at the desk reading for a little while.
I wasn’t sure how long I was sitting there when I heard someone climbing up the outside of the house.
I jumped up to look out my window and I was surprised to see that it was Asher.
“I do have a front door, you know.” I said.
“I know. But it was locked and I knew that you were up here.” He said climbing in my window.
“Alright. Remind me to get you a key for the house.” I said.
“Okay. I can live with that.” He said.
“So, how did the meeting go?” I asked.

CHAPTER 32
“It went better than expected. I got a copy of his day planner and everything that he has on for the nex
couple of months. So I can start sitting in on meetings and conference calls and all that sort of crap” He
said.
“Awesome. And what about all the paperwork and dealing with pack finances? That’s going to be the biggest obstacle.” I said.
“I know. And he said that he’ll wait a little while for that. But he’s letting me start actually getting involved.”
Asher said. So I put my arms around him to hug him.
“I’m really happy for you. It’s about time.” I said.
“I want to take you out.” He said.
“What?” I asked, confused.
“I want to take you out on a date. How about tomorrow after school?” He asked.
“Yeah. That sounds like a plan. Are you sure you can? I mean, you’re just starting to be given responsibilities and now you’re taking time off to take me to school.” I said.
“We talked about that as well. He knows what it’s like to have a mate and I already told him that you refuse
to stay home. You’re still going to school no matter what. So, I just have to give him your schedule to let
him know when I won’t be available.” Asher said.
“I knew he’d come around. Especially if he’s got a couple of women nagging him.” I smirked.
“Wow. You really are going to make a good Luna.” He said and I started laughing.
“Nagging men is the easy part.” I said.
“I bet it is.” He said.
“Are you going to stay here tonight?” I asked, a little nervously.
“If it’s alright with you. Again, no touching or anything that you’re not comfortable with.” Asher said,
showing his hands in surrender.
It wasn’t long before I had to get to bed. I had a big day tomorrow and I had to get an early start if it was
all going to be done before I left for school.
Asher and I got into bed and I turned to face him, placing my arm across his waist. So he pulled me closer so my head was resting on his chest.
It didn’t take me long to fall asleep, wrapped up with Asher’s warm embrace enveloping me.
My alarm went off at 6am, but Asher looked at the clock and he moaned and rolled over, holding onto me
tighter.
“I have to get up.” I groaned.
“No. A couple more hours.” He said.

“Your mother is expecting me.” I said.
“Damn my mother. I know she was going to steal you away from me as soon as she found out who you
were” Asher said.
“She’s not stealing me. She’s training me.” I said.
“You’re going to sit around all morning talking with women who are just complaining about crap in the pack that no one can really change. Mom usually comes up with the smallest solution for them so they will just leave her alone.” Asher mumbled.
“Well, I better learn what those small solutions are so I can practice lying to the women of this pack too.” I
said and Asher started chuckling.
“That will be interesting.” He said.
I finally managed to get out of bed and I walked downstairs to get a coffee and Asher walked down not long after me.
“So, you wanna share a shower?” He asked, sitting at the table with his coffee.
The house has more than one shower.” I said. But he just smirked at me.
I don’t think I was ready to go that far with him just yet.
But once we were both ready we went to the packhouse together and Luna Petra was waiting for me.
Acher kissed me goodbye while he went to find his father and Petra took me to the smaller dining room in the house where we were having pastries and coffee with other ladies from the pack.
Petra didn’t introduce me to them as anything other than Trinity. She didn’t tell them who I was to the pack
or that I was mated to Asher.
She was just spending the day with me today which would make them all assume that I was taking on the role of her lady in waiting. Or the future Luna’s lady in waiting. They wouldn’t have guessed that I was the
future Luna.
But I had to sit there and listen to them all go on about different things around the pack.
They were all a lot older than me and they were talking about stuff that I wasn’t interested in. But once
they started talking pack business, that’s when I made sure I was paying attention.
Luna Petra made sure to include me in the conversation and she would ask my opinion on different
subjects and I would give my opinion whenever I could. Whenever I understood whatever they were talking about.
“So Trinity. Everyone is aware that your parents and brother were arrested. No one will tell us why. Do you think that’s something that you can do?” A woman asked. She was looking at me with a disdainful look on
her face.
I was familiar with this woman. She was friends with my mother and I knew that she was probably just

after answers, but since I was still in the pack and my family was on the run, people obviously had
questions.
“That’s not why we’re here and that’s not why I invited Trinity to this meeting” Luna Petra scolded the
woman.
“Well, a lot of people do want to know.” Another woman said.
“Those people can learn to mind their own business. It’s obvious that they broke the law and Trinity didn’t.
So let’s just leave it at that.” Luna Petra insisted.
So the rest of the ladies left it alone, but I could tell that they all wanted answers.
