CHAPTER 53
I was relieved when they said I could go home that night. I had been unconscious for a couple of days after Asher brought me home and the surgery so all of the silver was out of my system.
Asher helped me out to the car and my shoulder was all bandaged up, waiting for it to heal and he drove me back to the packhouse.
As soon as we pulled up out the front I saw a man standing on the patio and I sat in the front seat staring at him.
“Are you alright?” Asher asked.
“What’s he.
ere?” I asked. So Asher looked at the patio.
“s**t. I didn’t even notice him.” Asher said.
“You know, if you’re going to be Alpha you really need to be more observant.” I teased.
“I’ll see what he wants.” Asher said, getting out of the car.
He walked up to the patio while I stayed in the car and I could see that they were having a pretty heated conversation.
The guy standing there was Spencer’s best friend since they were kids. I didn’t know what Leo was doing here and I really didn’t care. I didn’t want to see him and I haven’t had anything to do with him or even seen him since Spencer left the pack. So why would he be here now if it didn’t have anything to do with Spencer’s death.
I saw Asher order him away from the packhouse so he started leaving but he glared at me in the car as he walked past.
Asher walked down to the car and opened the door for me and helped me out.
“What did he want?” I asked.
“He wanted to talk to you. I could smell the alcohol on his breath.” Asher said.
“He’s pissed that I killed Spencer, isn’t he?” I asked.
“Yeah
ut he’ll get over it.” He said.
“Are you sure about that?” I asked.
“Trinny. You had no choice. You killed him to save yourself and your brother was an asshole.
Even Leo knows that. So it doesn’t matter what he thinks.” Asher said.
“I guess not.” I said.
As soon as we went inside Asher helped me into the living room and everyone else was already at home.
They were making a fuss over me which I really didn’t like. I didn’t want them to start treating me differently and I could still do things for myself. I only had limited movement of my shoulder for the time being.
But them making a fuss over me wasn’t necessary. So when Asher sat on the couch next to me, I was just glad that he wasn’t running around trying to get me pillows and blankets and stuff like that.
When he finally at next to me I was able to snuggle up to him more and he put a movie on.
I ended up tang asleep while leaning against Asher and just as I was barely unconscious | felt him lay me down so my head was on his lap.
I was standing back in the woods staring at the exit to the coal mine that I escaped from.
I looked around to see the forest all around me, but when I saw Spencer standing there, I
froze.
I saw the blood oozing out of his chest as he looked down at the large branch sticking out of him and then he looked at me.
“You killed me.” He said.
“You were going to kill me.” I said.
“Don’t worry about me. You’re the one that’s going to have to live with this for the rest of your life. You’ve never killed anyone before. The first one is always the hardest. And I was your brother.” He said.
“You abused me. You hurt me. You kidnapped me.” I said. But he started laughing.
“Do you think that’s going to give you forgiveness for what you did? You’re never going to get over this. And I can’t wait to see the show.” He said.
I jolted awake and Asher reacted to me, looking at me really worried and making sure I didn’t hurt my shoulder.
“Are you alright?” He asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” I said.
“What was it? You were dreaming about something.” Asher said.
“It’s nothing. Don’t worry about it.” I said, sitting up properly.
“Trinny. You know you can talk to me about anything.” He said.
“I know. But, not this. Just leave it alone please?” I asked.
“Sure.” He said, leaning over and putting his arm around me.
“How long was I asleep?” I asked.
“For the whole movie.” He said.
“Sorry.” I said
leaned over and kissed me.

I heard yelling coming from outside the packhouse that caught my attention straight away and I slowly got up. Asher tried to stop me, but that just made me want to see what was going on even more.
I went to the front door and when I opened it I saw Alpha Dennis out there with Gage yelling
at Leo.
“You knew that they were going to kill him. Why didn’t you stop them?” Leo asked.
“Are you as delusional as Spencer?” Gage asked.
“What?” Leo asked.
“Because he kidnapped her. He was going to kill her. She didn’t have a f*****g choice. What is the matter with you? He was never going to stop coming at her.” Gage said.
“And how do we know that you weren’t aware of what he was planning?” Dennis asked.
“Do you think I’ve been helping him since he was banished?” Leo asked.
“You seem pretty content standing here yelling at your Alpha on his behalf. I really wouldn’t put anything past you.” Dennis said.
“I haven’t spoken to him since he was run out of the pack. Besides, everything he did to that b***h she deserved.” Leo yelled. Causing Gage to punch him across the face. But Dennis stood in t‘ way and pulled Gage back.
I felt Asher standing behind me and he was making sure that I didn’t go too far outside and
he was going to be sure that I was protected in case Leo saw me.
“You think she deserved to be beaten relentlessly for something that she didn’t do. Dane wasn’t killed because she did anything wrong. He was just trying to protect her. And now, we don’t know what he was protecting her from. Maybe if her so–called parents didn’t kidnap her then none of that s**t would have happened. Did you ever think about that? Did you ever think that maybe they brought all of this on themselves?” Gage asked.
“What do you mean kidnapped?” Leo asked.
“You don’t even know, do you?” Gage asked.
“Hank and Sabine kidnapped Trinity when she was a baby. We don’t know who from or why. But Spencer and Dane were old enough to know what their parents did. Dane did everything he could, including giving his own life, to protect her. Spencer did everything he could to br her. If they weren’t the type of people that they are, then none of this would have happened and you’d still ha r best friend. Now I suggest you leave, before you find yourself in the dungeon with the rogues that were working for Spencer.” Dennis said, standing straight. His Alpha aura evident as he made it very clear that he was done with this conversation.
I could see the confusion on Leo’s face as he walked past Dennis and Gage and he caught a glimpse of me inside the door.
He still only looked confused when he saw me though and he walked down the stairs and left the packhouse.
Dennis and Gage turned to come back inside and saw me standing there. They didn’t know what to say but I just turned around and went back inside.
I didn’t know what to say either. I didn’t think Leo would come back and demand to see the Alpha about Spencer. And I really wasn’t surprised to hear that Leo knew everything that Spencer was doing to me while I was living in that house.
But I just did what I always did. I tried to put it out of my head for the time being.
