Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time novel Chapter 661

Franklin had already congratulated her once before, but since he was putting on the act of just finding out, Maggie played along. Thank you.

Of course.

After that, they had nothing else to say to each other.

Maggie and Franklin’s groups went their separate ways not long after.

Watching the two of them interact like polite strangers, Yale couldn’t shake the feeling that whatever was going on between them was a lot more complicated than he’d originally thought.

After everyone left, Mr. Jarrell was about to head back upstairs when Yale spoke up. Does Wilson Group have anyone receiving an award this year?

If someone from Wilson Group was being honored, it would actually make sense for Franklin to attend in person. Good optics, solid publicity for their products.

Otherwise

No,Mr. Jarrell said, then tilted his head. Why do you ask?

No reason. Just curious.

Maggie had climbed her way up by stepping on Julia. Everything she had today came at Julia’s expense.

If there was truly nothing going on between Franklin and Maggie, then Franklin, as Julia’s boyfriend, wouldn’t go out of his way to attend a ceremony unless he absolutely had to

The awards ceremony was on Saturday evening.

Friday around noon, Maggie’s phone buzzed.

It was Isabella. Mom, you have a work trip this Saturday and Sunday too, right?

Maggie blinked. Yeah. Then she asked, Did your dad tell you?

Mm.Isabella’s voice dropped into a little pout. So when are you coming home?

Should be back Sunday afternoon.

Dad too.Isabella perked up. Then I’ll pick you and Dad up from the airport, and you guys can take me to a movie that night! Deal?

They weren’t necessarily on the same flight. And even if they were, they wouldn’t necessarily be traveling together.

But Maggie didn’t get into any of that. By the time Mom gets back, it’ll probably be rush hour. How about we meet up at a restaurant first, grab dinner, and then catch your movie?

Isabella: Fine.

They chatted for a few more minutes before hanging up.

Maggie left work early, went home to pack a few things, and headed out.

At the airport during checkin, she ran straight into Franklin.

They both paused.

Before either of them could react, someone tapped her on the shoulder.

Maggie turned around. It was Glen.

She stared at him. What are you doing here?

Glen grinned. Wanted to see you win in person.

Maggie didn’t know what to say to that. After a beat, she managed, Thank you.

Franklin stood a short distance away. He glanced over at the two of them, smiled slightly to himself, then looked away.

Glen had noticed Franklin too. He’d been surprised when he first spotted him, but it didn’t take him long to piece together why Franklin was there.
