The next few days, Zeke didn’t come back. I thought he’d finally left. Just when I was relieved to have some peace–he showed up
again.
“Harper, I cleared things up with Vivian. She won’t bother you anymore. I promise.”
I stopped sketching, turned to him.
“What about you?”
He looked confused. “What?”
“When are you going to stop bothering me?”
Quinn couldn’t hold back a laugh. She grabbed Sunny’s leash, heading out. “Come on, Sunny. Let’s not be annoying and desperate.”
Zeke’s face went dark.
He stepped in front of me.
“I was a piece of shit before. You can hit me, scream at me–whatever. Just don’t leave me.”
“I already bought our old apartment. If you don’t like it, I’ll get you a bigger one.”
So casual. Of course–what’s one apartment to the Harrington heir?
I pulled off my gloves. Kept my tone light.
“Remember the winter of 2022?”
‘Of course you don’t. Let me remind you. That was the year we moved to Sycamore Court. I was completely broke. Rent was due. I
had no options. Guess what I did?”
I sold my blood, Zeke. And what were you doing? Throwing a tantrum.”
I bought you roast duck. You said it smelled bad and threw it in the trash. I fished it out later. Ate it myself. And I remember hinking–how could you not like something this good?”
Now I get it. Why would the Harrington heir eat street food?”
wiped my tears, voice shaking.
Zeke, I was 24 that year. I really, really needed a place to live. But now I’m 29. I don’t need that apartment anymore.”
Just like before–I needed your love. Now? I don’t need that either.”
His hand hovered in the air, like he wanted to wipe my tears. Then he pulled it back. He was sobbing now, choking out the same words over and over: “Harper, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”

Mr Fake Mute’s Love Caine Ended When I Stoud Dieving the Inal
Chapter 10
“Some things, some people–once you lose them, they’re gone. God doesn’t give second chances. Neither do L.”
His eyes were swollen and red. He shook his head stubbornly.
‘I don’t believe that. I don’t.”
Suddenly, crashing sounds came from outside. Quinn shouted: “Who are you?! Why are you smashing our stuff?!”
