Chapter 109 You’re Not Alone Anymore

Quincy was so startled that he blurted out right away, “Mr. Lincoln, I swear I didn’t know this student skipped that many classes! I’ll have the student affairs office check it immediately.”
He knew better than to compare the Joneses to the Lincolns.
And with all those reporters around, plus Curtis himself stepping in, Quincy had no choice but to smooth things over.
Cheryl’s face turned ghostly pale. She looked at Natasha nervously. “What should we do now?”
Natasha’s expression hardened. Standing on stage, she looked completely thrown off.
She glared at Curtis once, then turned away and slipped backstage before she could embarrass herself even
more.
With all those cameras flashing, there was no way she could face the crowd now. She decided to hide until the ceremony was over.
Cheryl, panicking, hurried after Natasha.
“Natasha, what’s going on between Curtis and Adriana?!” Cheryl asked angrily.
Natasha frowned and shot her a cold look. “You’ve got a lot of nerve asking me that. This whole mess started because you ditched class!”
Cheryl dropped her gaze guiltily, mumbling, “Don’t worry. Once we’re in Pastalia, I’ll make sure she regrets this.”
“She’s got Curtis on her side now. Everyone knows he’s super protective of his people, so don’t do anything dumb. Just wait. Once he gets bored with her, there’ll be plenty of folks ready to drag her down.” Natasha scoffed.
On stage, Quincy nervously called Adriana’s name while checking the list. Even though she was supposed to be last, he moved her spot up.
After all, Adriana had real support now. She wasn’t that bullied orphan anymore.
Her eyes were red as she looked nervously at Curtis.
She thought he’d ditch her, just like Matthew did.
“Don’t be scared. Go ahead,” Curtis said, squeezing her hand.
Adriana nodded, took a deep breath, and stepped onto the stage.
That was the honor she deserved.
Just like Curtis said–she couldn’t lower her head, or her crown would slip.
She was top of her class, always a standout.

Chapter 109 You’re Not Alone Anymore
So what if she was an orphan with no family? She still had her own life to live.
“Adriana is one of our best graduates,” Quincy announced with a smile.
Adriana just smiled faintly and said nothing.
“Then… let’s have Mr. Lincoln present the award. Quincy smiled awkwardly at Curtis.
Curtis walked up, handed her the award, and his assistant followed with a bouquet.
Adriana blinked in surprise. She didn’t expect Curtis to do something so romantic.
She figured he wouldn’t bother with small gestures like that.
Curtis said softly, “Adriana, you’re not alone anymore.”
Adriana froze, staring at him as tears filled her eyes.
She never imagined hearing those words. She wasn’t alone anymore.

Before she could respond, Peter came up with another bouquet. “Ms. Xander, this is from Mr. Langford.”
He motioned toward the audience.
Matthew was there.
Adriana was stunned for a moment. He must’ve come for Natasha.
Curtis raised a brow and pulled Adriana behind him. “My wife doesn’t need gifts from Mr. Langford.”
With all the reporters around, everyone sensed drama.
What was Matthew doing there? Wasn’t he about to marry Natasha? Why bring flowers for Adriana?
Backstage, Natasha saw him as well. Her shock turned into fury, and her hands clenched so tightly that her nails dug in.
Didn’t he say he was too busy on Monday? He had time for that, but not to get their marriage certificates. He was clearly here for Adriana!
Cheryl gawked. “Natasha, why is Matthew-”
“Shut up!” Natasha snapped, gritting her teeth.
In the audience, Matthew looked annoyed. He hadn’t expected Curtis to come,
He thought Danielle would’ve gotten Cynthia to keep Curtis away.
Grinding his teeth, he forced out, “Adriana, I promised you I’d come to your graduation.”
Adriana let out a mocking laugh.
