Chapter 111 His Rabbit Runs Away
Natasha’s temper snapped. Before she realized it, she slapped the reporter.
Every camera turned to her at once.

The reporter, one of Curtis‘ men, had been waiting for that moment. He fell dramatically to the ground.
Natasha froze. With all those reporters watching, everything she’d worked so hard to build was gone in seconds.
Panicking, she fumbled for her phone to call Matthew.
One of the reporters was even pretending to be hurt on purpose. Tomorrow’s headlines were going to destroy her.
The Joneses cared most about their reputation and heirs. With Rufus already in prison, if her name got dragged through the mud, it would ruin them.
But Matthew didn’t pick up.
She kept calling, but he never answered.
In the car, Matthew looked pissed. When he saw Natasha’s name flash on the screen, he just tossed his phone aside.
He used to believe nothing could ever shake his feelings for her. That first crush had lasted so long. Why would it change now?
Even when Natasha went abroad to marry someone else, he stayed with Adriana. Maybe it started as rebellion or bitterness, but he never thought he’d actually fall for Adriana.
Now, between Natasha and Adriana, he found himself drawn to Adriana more and more.
She was the one he cared about.
“Mr. Langford, Ms. Jones is calling again,” Peter said carefully, sounding nervous. He guessed Natasha probably wanted to push Matthew about getting that marriage certificate.
Peter didn’t even dare to answer anymore. Things between them were getting too tense.
“Don’t answer,” Matthew said sharply, clearly annoyed. Natasha’s constant calls about the marriage were only making him angrier.
The harder she tried to hold on, the more it pushed hini away.
Peter drove Matthew home.
The house felt empty, lifeless.
Matthew dropped the gift box on the table and sank onto the couch, rubbing his temples.

Then, he stood up and left the living room, deciding to drive to the apartment.
It was the place he used to share with Adriana.

They had been together for four years, but he never once brought her to his house–except for those few times when she was his assistant and came to pick him up.
Back then, the thought of marrying her had never even crossed his mind.
He parked outside the apartment and stared up at the building.
When did it happen? When did being with Adriana become such a routine part of his life?
Now, he couldn’t get used to her not being there.
He’d always treated her like a little pet rabbit–gentle, quiet, and easy to handle.
When he was happy, he’d drop by to see her. When he was upset, he’d go there to calm down.
Her place had always felt like his safe spot, a quiet escape from the rest of the world.
But now, his little rabbit was gone.
“Matthew! What have you been up to? Curtis is still in Haldoria. Let’s hang out,” Darren called right as Matthew stepped out of the elevator.
Matthew opened the apartment door, rubbing his sore forehead. “Not going.”
“Come on, man. You and Curtis aren’t really gonna stop being friends over one girl, are you? Ten tonight at Dreamnight Lounge. Be there,” Darren said quickly before hanging up,
Darren was Matthew and Curtis‘ mutual friend. The two men had always worked well together and got along fine.
Curtis was wild and unpredictable, so most people in their circle avoided him.
Matthew was definitely competent. He and Curtis had always held mutual respect.
If Adriana hadn’t come into the picture, they probably would’ve stayed friends.
Matthew threw his phone on the couch and leaned back, rubbing his temples tiredly.
He shouldn’t have asked Adriana to send his clothes to the club. If she hadn’t run into Curtis that night, maybe Curtis never would’ve gotten mixed up with her.
But thinking about it now was pointless.
He never imagined the girl who always stayed by his side would suddenly turn against him and run to
someone else.
Natasha called both her assistant and lawyer. Only after they showed up did she finally leave with
