Chapter 154 Fake Time
Adriana looked at Curtis with nervous eyes. “Then… if we lose this baby, will you divorce me?”
She just needed a clear answer.
Maybe if Curtis said it out loud, she would finally feel at ease.
Ehitched
“No,” Curtis said. He pulled Adriana into his arms with one arm. “Adriana, let’s make a deal. We won’t divorce until you’ve become a well–known designer in this industry.”
Adriana blinked, stunned, then lifted her head to look at him.
Curtis knew Adriana still had feelings somewhere in her heart for Matthew. Even if she didn’t love him. anymore, she wouldn’t fall in love with Curtis so quickly.
He was willing to be her stepping stone.
He wanted her to shine bright like a diamond.
And when the day came that she didn’t need him–or wanted to leave–he wouldn’t force her to stay.
“Really?” Adriana asked, unsure.
So the day I succeed… is the day we divorce?
“Yes. I always keep my word. Curtis said, nodding. He took her hand and led her out of the room. “Whether this baby makes it or not, our deal still stands.
Adriana followed quietly. At that moment, the noise of the hospital faded away. All she could hear was her own heartbeat.
Can I really be this lucky? To meet someone as good as Curtis?
If she didn’t know Curtis’s situation, she might’ve wondered if she was dreaming or walking into some kind of trap
Maybe this is my turn. After 23 years of hitting rock bottom, maybe I’ll finally get my shot.
Or maybe those 23 years were all leading me to Curtis.
The date for the class reunion was finally set.
Cheryl was extica active in the group chat. She said now that college was ending, she would bring gifts for every classmate–because soon everyone would go their separate ways.
What she really meant was that everyone would end up in different social classes. And she would only climb higher.
Everyone in the group kept flattering her. Adriana couldn’t stand it anymore. She turned off her phone and started thinking about what to wear to the reunion.

Chapter 154 Fake Time
Curtis had been busy lately. Something about rushing a project.
Without him helping her pick outfits, Adriana felt totally lost.
She pulled out a dress from her closet and matched it with flat shoes,
The doctor said she shouldn’t fall or bump into anything right now, so flats were safer.
It was just a class reunion anyway. She just wanted to hear about the language program.
After she changed. Adriana picked up her phone, debating whether she should tell Curtis.
What if he is too busy? If ould I bother him?
While Adriana was still trying to decide, Curtis texted her first.)
“What do you want for dinner tonight?”
Adriana replied seriously. “Tonight is my class reunion. I might need to go.”
Curtis texted back, “Where is it? Send me the address. I’ll pick you up when it’s over.”
Adriana found the location in the group chat and sent it to him.
Curtis replied. “It’s close to my office. I’ll go there once I’m done.
A warm feeling spread through Adriana’s chest.
At 3:30 p.m., the driver came to pick her up.
When she arrived, none of her classmates were there yet.
She frowned. Didn’t the group say it started at 3:307
Finished
She purposely came exactly on time so she wouldn’t have to talk to anyone. But now she was early… and alone.
“Hi… is this where Haldoria University’s Architecture Department, Class 3, is having their reunion dinner?” Adriana asked a staff member, nervously.
“Yes,” the staff member said with a nod. “It’s here.””
Adriana checked the group chat, but no one had said a word all afternoon.
“Adriana.”
She had just stood up to leave when Cheryl walked in with Natasha, Felicia, and Elise behind her.
Adriana frowned and ignored them, heading straight for the door.
