Chapter 157 Confident
Curtis thought for a moment then blocked Danielle too.
Kenneth stared at him, totally confused.
Curtis narrowed his eyes at the saved photos.
“What do you think of this picture?” he asked.
Kenneth sucked in a breath. But that Adriana and Matthew?
“Mr. Lincoln… I’m not sure,” he said carefully, afraid to say the wrong thing.
“You don’t have eyes?” Curtis snapped, annoyed but with nowhere to vent it.

Kenneth hesitated. “Adriana used to love Matthew so much. If she still can’t let go right away, it kind of makes sense. Mr. Lincoln, maybe give her one more chance. This might not be cheating.”
Curtis let out a cold laugh. “From this angle, whoever took the picture was standing in the same room. If you were cheating, wouldn’t you notice someone standing right in front of you taking a photo?”
Kenneth lowered his head. Why am I getting yelled at for this….
Curtis got up and walked out.
“Mr. Lincoln, where are you going?”
“I’m going to pick up my babe and take her home.”
When Curtis drove up to the restaurant, he saw Adriana on the sidewalk trying to get a cab.
He actually wanted to thank Nicole for being so desperate to send those photos.
“Need a ride?” Curtis lowered the window.
Adriana’s eyes lit up, and she happily got in.
Curtis let out a quiet breath. She didn’t look upset. She looked fine–unaffected by certain worthless men.
“What are you doing here?” Adriana asked with surprise.
“You’re not going to the class reunion anymore?” he asked instead.
Adriana’s mood dimmed a little, and she nodded.
“Then let’s go home.” Curtis reached over and gently rubbed her head, like he was comforting her.
Whenever she felt terrible and he did that… it always calmed her down.

Chapter 157 Confident
Back home, Curtis cooked dinner for her himself. He didn’t mention Matthew at all.
He didn’t want to ruin her mood.
But of course, someone always had to stir up trouble. While Curtis was in the kitchen, someone sent Adriana that same picture of her and Mathew.
“I already told Curtis you were secretly meeting Matthew. Just wait. He’s going to blame you.”
Nicole added Adriana on WhatsApp, then sent the photo and that message,
Adriana panicked. That angle made it hard to explain what was really happening.
If Nicole already showed Curtis, why isn’t he mad? Why didn’t he say anything?
If he hasn’t seen it yet… should T explain now?
If he has seen it… does that mean he just doesn’t care
Her lifelong insecurity washed over her. She never felt confident about anything.
She got up nervously and walked to the kitchen.
Curtis was cooking. He somehow looked handsome even when he was chopping vegetables.
Adriana’s palms grew sweaty.

“Why are you standing there? Come sit, Curtis said with a warm smile. She always wore her emotions on her face.
“I went to the reunion today and found out they lied,” Adriana said, gathering her courage. “It wasn’t a reunion at all. Elise and Felicia wanted to pay me to forgive Mia and Rufus.”
Curtis walked out with the food and set it on the table. “So you’re finally telling me?”
Adriana’s nose stung. So he does know.
Then he’s not mad because he doesn’t care… right?
“Elise thought I still had feelings for Matthew, so she called him over to beg me. But he didn’t make things hard for me.” Adriana whispered.
“Do you still have feelings for him?” Curtis asked.
Adriana shook her head fast. “N… no.”
“Eat. Curtis pointed her toward the sink. “Wash your hands first.”
“You’re… not mad?” she asked softly. “Nicole said she sent you the photo.”
Tin mad. Curtis said. “But I still have a brain.”
“You… believe me?” Adriana’s eyes grew wet.
Finished
