Chapter 240 Sunny Finds Daddy

The plump little Nina got placed beside Benjamin. She still slept with her eyes closed.

The two pythons watched Nina for a few seconds.

A few seconds later, they left decisively.

The colorful python rubbed affectionately against its mate the whole way. Their huge backs showed deep intimacy.

The jungle ground felt cold and hard.

Leaves lay under Nina. But as she slept, she still grew chilly.

Nina instinctively moved toward the warmth.

She snuggled into Benjamin’s arm. Her eyes stayed shut. But her mouth let out uncomfortable whimpers.

Her whimpers slowly brought consciousness back to the deeply unconscious Benjamin.

At first, Benjamin thought he had imagined it.

He believed he had hallucinated Nina’s voice.

But the near–crying sound felt too clear.

He knew it too well.

Finally, he forced his eyes open.

When he did, he really saw Nina sleeping in his arms.

Benjamin froze. He glanced around–no one else was nearby.

“Nina?” Benjamin sat up and called her in a hoarse voice

Benjamin had a wound on his chest, but luckily, it wasn life–threatening.

The man who injured him, Everett Lloyd, hadn’t fared well either.

After the first completely unguarded stab, Benjamin took no more injuries.

Everett got wounded by him instead and staggered away

Benjamin didn’t know Everett’s fate or if something had happened to him. He had no interest in it. Right now, he only wanted to know–how did Nina get here?

“Nina… Nina, wake up.”

Benjamin called gently over and over. Nina, who hadn’t slept peacefully, finally woke up.

Nina didn’t sleep comfortably. She had morning grumpiness too.

Benjamin patted her back soothingly. He coaxed her with great experience.

“Nina, look at me. Daddy’s here.”

Benjamin’s low voice reached Nina’s ears.

But soon, she realized.

She rubbed her eyes and sat up. “Daddy!”

Nina stared at Benjamin in disbelief. Her round eyes opened wide.

Benjamin rubbed her little head and answered softly, “Yes, it’s Daddy.”

Nina stared blankly at Benjamin.

Two seconds later, her mouth scrunched. Her eyes closed. She burst into loud cries. “Daddy! Nina miss you!”

Nina cried and opened her plump arms. She hugged Benjamin tightly.

She actually touched Benjamin’s wound. But Benjamin said nothing. He just hugged the upset Nina hard.

They held each other a long while. Nina’s cries gradually weakened.

Nina was about to stop crying when she suddenly spotted Benjamin’s injury.

“Daddy hurt! Bad guy!”

This time, Nina’s dream hadn’t warned Benjamin in advance.

Benjamin still got hurt.

Nina saw his wound. She felt heartbroken.

Benjamin saw her cry again. He could only keep soothing her.

Nina wiped her little face on Benjamin. She sniffled. He mood improved a bit.

“Daddy… Sunny good. Sunny find Daddy.”

Nina knew Sunny had brought her to Benjamin.

Nina praised Sunny enthusiastically.

After praising, she belatedly realized she didn’t see Suny anymore.

“Sunny!” Nina, who had lost another python friend, tugged at her little voice and called persistently for Sunny.

Besides Sunny, Nina called the aloof brown python too.
