“Okay, we’re going home.”
Amelia gripped Benjamin’s hand back. She held it very tightly.
She desperately needed to feel Benjamin’s warmth right now.
That way, she could feel a bit safer.

Everyone had been found. Everett, the man who harmed Chloe and Benjamin, remained missing.
But no one present wanted to search for him anymore.
On the return journey, Nina slept the whole way.
She slept deeply. So she didn’t notice those two pythons following not far behind for quite a while.
The two giant pythons watched her leave. They followed a distance before stopping.
Sunny happily rubbed against its mate. It seemed to say the little baby finally left!
With Nina gone, this territory was its again! No more yielding.
The two giant pythons slithered away together. Nina was carried by the adults and didn’t wake
She slept soundly but coughed occasionally.
Amelia worried. She touched Nina’s forehead.
The touch changed Amelia’s expression. “Nina has a fever.”
Nina had traveled too long and slept outside in the wild.
Her little body finally couldn’t hold up.
Amelia carefully felt Nina’s forehead and the soles of her feet–she could even gauge her temperature pretty accurately.
“Nina has a high fever, about 100.4°F.”
Amelia had gained many skills caring for Nina alone.

Chapter 242 Feed Medicine
She could roughly judge if Nina had a fever just by touching her forehead and feet.
Nina’s sudden fever darkened Benjamin and Daniel’s faces.
Daniel pulled the children’s fever medicine from his pocket.
He had brought medicine. But he still worried about Nina’s condition.
Daniel said, “Let’s hurry out. Once we’re out, she’ll be fine.”

Amelia nodded. “Okay.”
With a feverish baby, everyone’s steps quickened unconsciously.
Nina kept her eyes closed. But her mouth whimpered unhappily.
Nina’s whimpers tugged at everyone’s hearts.
Amelia wanted to take Nina. The captain refused. “You’re almost out of strength yourself. Don’t carry her. She’s heavy.”
Amelia insisted, “She’s burning up and uncomfortable. She needs me.”
Amelia was right. The distressed Nina whimpered and called for “Mommy” every few moments. Her voice turned tearful.
She thrashed in the captain’s arms. His scent felt wrong to her.
She could tell it wasn’t Amelia’s smell.
Seeing Nina fuss, Benjamin and Daniel tried to take her.
Amelia didn’t let them.
Benjamin was injured, and Daniel supported him. Amelia didn’t want their help.
“It’s fine. I can carry her. I’m used to it.”
Amelia meant it.
She truly was used to carrying Nina.
People unfamiliar with Nina might find her very heavy.
But Amelia carried her and felt it was manageable.
Half the exit path remained. Amelia coaxed Nina in her arms the whole way out.

Chapter 242 Feed Medicine
During this, Amelia even gave Nina another dose of fever medicine.
Nina’s temperature suddenly shot up to over 105°F.
For young children over this temperature, medicine was needed to bring it down.
Nina, force–fed medicine, couldn’t sleep anymore.
She felt terribly wronged after the dose.

As soon as they exited the jungle, she cried and stretched her plump little body toward William for a hug.
“Grandpa, Mommy feed med! Hug me!”
Nina opened her plump arms and threw herself into William’s embrace.
William’s heart ached. He held her close and kissed her.
After kissing Nina, William saw his daughter barely clinging to life. His heart twisted even
