Benjamin murmured softly. The next second, his large hands cupped Amelia’s cheeks, and he leaned in for a kiss.

Their lips met. Amelia’s mind went completely blank.

She had no experience with kissing.

Her last kiss had been years ago, that night with Benjamin.

That night, Benjamin had been intense–even his kisses were fierce. But this time, Benjamin was very gentle.

His gentle kiss made Amelia unconsciously rise on her toes. She instinctively leaned in to meet him.

Amelia’s small movement darkened Benjamin’s eyes abruptly.

Just as Benjamin’s hands tightened with more force, a loud knock sounded on the hospital room door.

It was Daniel who had brought food.

“Benjamin, open the door! Hungry? I brought you something to eat.

“Did Nina fall asleep? I got some for her too.”

Daniel eagerly ran errands just to check on his brother and little niece.

His voice snapped Amelia awake as if from a dream.

“Mm… Benjamin, go open the door.”

Amelia pushed against Benjamin’s chest, urging him to answer it.

The unsatisfied desire in Benjamin’s eyes got forcibly suppressed.

“Eat up quick. I got local specialties.

“Oh, right. Where’s Nina?”

Daniel asked question after question. He didn’t notice Benjamin’s cold face.

Amelia tidied herself a bit in the inner room before coming out.

“Nina’s asleep,” she said.

Daniel smiled, “She fell asleep pretty fast.” Then he turned to Amelia. “I brought food. Eat some too. You’ve had a tough time this trip.”

Daniel’s food tasted decent enough.

Amelia sat down and ate a little.

She ate too little. Benjamin spooned some food into her plate.

“Have more,” he said.

Amelia shook her head. “No more. If I eat too much, I’ll gain weight.

“The company gave me a great script. When we get back, I’ll audition. The role can’t be chubby.”

Amelia refused more food for work. Benjamin frowned and said. “You’re not fat.”

Amelia shot back, “I don’t look fat in person, but on camera, it’s different—I do.

“I need to slim down a bit to look good on screen.”

Amelia wouldn’t eat enough just for the camera.

Benjamin thought it wasn’t healthy. But he didn’t force her.

He only said calmly, “Nina still needs your care these next days. You’ll burn a lot of energy. Eating more won’t make you gain weight.”

Benjamin’s words made some sense.

Amelia hadn’t felt full anyway. She couldn’t resist eating a bit more.
