Then, his foot shot out in a hard kick.

Amelia was startled by Benjamin’s sudden move.

Benjamin knocked Jagger to the floor, then pressed his foot on Jagger’s hand.

Finished

His voice was eerily calm, with no emotion at all. “Say one more word, and I guarantee you’ll never speak again.”

Benjamin spoke casually, but the searing pain in Jagger’s hand filled him with terrible fear.

He was genuinely intimidated by Benjamin.

Benjamin didn’t get physical much. With Amelia and Na present, he had to keep up appearances to avoid frightening them.

Once out of the private room, Nina finally managed to pull Benjamin’s big hand away from her eyes.

“Daddy, I blind!” she complained, annoyed that she couldn’t see.

Benjamin glanced at her irritated little face. “Can you see now?”

Nina didn’t answer. Instead, she raised her little hand to smack him-she just kept slapping people.

Luckily, Amelia caught her chubby hand in time and gave it a light tap. “We don’t hit Daddy.”

Chastised, Nina pouted and settled down.

The family of three didn’t eat there. They went to another one near the mall.

After ordering, Benjamin took over feeding Nina while Amelia ate first.

Once Amelia was done eating, it would be Benjamin’s turn to eat.

Amelia ate lightly and quickly, while Benjamin had a bigger appetite and usually ate last.

“Benjamin, let me feed her. Eat while it’s hot,” Amelia said, taking the plate back from him.

Nina could feed herself pretty well at daycare, but at home or with family around, she always messes around.

Even though she was clearly hungry now, she played while eating.

Amelia gave her a small toy to hold and managed to feel her most of her food while she was

distracted.

“Mommy, ride car?” Nina asked, spotting the coin-operated kiddie rides by the mall entrance-fifty cents for five minutes.

Through the restaurant window, she spotted them. Poining at the cars, she insisted on riding one.

Seeing her interest, Amelia lifted her out of the high chair. “Benjamin, you finish up. I’ll take her to play for a bit.”

Outside, there weren’t just kiddie rides but also bounce houses, rocking horses, aerial swings, shooting

games, treasure hunts, and the always tempting fish-cathing game that Nina could never resist.

Nina had a blast.

She finished one activity and immediately wanted to do the next.

Amelia couldn’t get her to leave until she tried everything.

The aerial swing made Amelia dizzy, so she didn’t want to take Nina on it.

But Nina insisted, charging forward excitedly.
