Chapter 286 Hit People

On the way, the children chattered nonstop, talking to Nina.

They were very concerned about her eye.

“Nina, your eye hurt?” a boy asked.

Nina’s eye hadn’t hurt for a while, but no matter who asked, she nodded. “Hurt.”

Even when she tattled to Sally that morning, she touched her eye and said it hurt a lot, which scared Sally into calling her parents right away.

Only after hearing the full story from them did Sally relax.

“Nina, for you.” On the bus, Ryder handed Nina a cartoon superhero badge. “Kian give you. Kian say thank you.”

He was conveying Kian’s gratitude.

If not for Nina’s intervention, Kian would still be getting bullied.

Kian had now dropped out of his old school.

Vance and Iris were transferring him.

Until he started at a new school, they were staying home with him.

They had even hired a child psychologist to help Kian.

Ryder was overjoyed to have Kian, Vance, and Iris at home now.

Nina accepted all gifts without hesitation.

She took everything the other kids gave her, never turning anything down.

After receiving the superhero badge, Nina lifted her chin and made an announcement.

“Bad guy come, me hit.” She was telling the other kids to come to her if they encountered bullies again.

The children were in awe of Nina’s heroics in saving Kian.

In their eyes, she was a certified little superhero.

The children kept talking all the way to the art exhibition venue.

Before entering, Sally repeatedly emphasized, “Kids, we are here to look at the wonderful artwork created by other boys and girls. When we go back, we can paint, too. But I need to tell you all something important: we can’t tear the pictures inside. These paintings were made with a lot of effort by other children. We must not damage them.”

After this warning, she specifically addressed Nina. “Nina, can you help me? Can you help me watch the other children and make sure no one damages anything? Okay?”

Sally directly gave Nina the job of keeping an eye on the others.

She even pinned another little red flower onto Nina’s yellow vest.

Fristed

Noah was a little troublemaker himself. Right in front of Nina, he raised his hand, intending to knock over the painting.

Seeing him about to cause damage, Nina’s brows furrowed.

The next second, without warning, she raised her hand and delivered a swift, sharp slap.

The slap was fast and loud.

Sally, who had hurried over, was a step too late to stop it.

She only managed to block Noah’s retaliatory strike.

“I’m so sorry!” Sally apologized repeatedly, shielding Nina in her arms to protect her from Noah.

She explained to Noah’s teacher, Emily Collins, who had rushed over, “It’s my fault. I asked Nina to help watch the children and stop them from damaging things.

“She’s so little. She didn’t know she should only manage the kids in our class. She saw another child about to cause damage and stepped in. This is entirely my responsibility.”

Sally explained clearly, but Emily wasn’t having it.

She questioned, “Are you saying Noah was damaging something? I didn’t see that.

“All I saw was a child from your group hitting ours. Is this how you teach your kids-to hit people whenever they feel like it?”
