Sally quickly pulled Nina into her embrace. “Nina is too young. Please don’t take it to heart.”
Michael was still quite sensitive to the word “die” right now.
His father, Gabriel Bennett, had just passed away unexpectedly.
Pressing his lips together, he stared at Nina’s face for a couple of seconds before finally letting the matter go.
“Forget it,” he conceded. “Let’s just leave it at that. Emily, I’ll be busy these next few days. Take good care of Noah. If anything comes up, message me first.”
Emily bit her lower lip. “Fine.”
There seemed to be something brewing between Emily and Michael.
Nina watched them, her little mouth about to start again.
Luckily, Sally was quick this time and covered her mouth in advance.
With the conflict between the two children resolved, Sally took Nina back to the group to continue viewing the exhibition.
The children spent the entire morning out.
It wasn’t until close to lunchtime that the bus brought them back for lunch and nap time.
