Chapter 383 You’re Easy to Manipulate
“By the way, what’s the situation with Denton now? Has the engagement between Maya and him been scheduled yet?” Maggie thought she had the entire situation under control.
She wanted to swallow every one of the four great families that once ruled the business world.
“Their relationship is still warming up, and marriage has already been discussed. But Denton is still thinking over the conditions we offered.”
For Denton to marry Maya, the Gills demanded that he transfer 5% of his Lincoln Group shares to Maya as part of the wedding arrangement. The Gills publicly framed this as a financial safeguard for Maya.
But Denton didn’t agree right away.
“Denton didn’t accept the terms we offered?” Maggie’s eyes darkened as she heard this.
“He didn’t refuse. He just said he wanted to go back and talk it over with his sisterinlaw, Adriana.”
Maggie let out a cold laugh. Denton really did hold Adriana in high regard.
Too bad Curtis died early. Adriana was only his sisterinlaw and posed no real threat.
“Keep watching Adriana. When the time is right, give things a push from behind and let Chandler and Danielle clash with her until both sides take damage.” Maggie thought Chandler and Danielle were complete failures. After all this time, they hadn’t hurt Adriana at all. Instead, they’d helped her establish authority inside Barton Group.
“Also, over at Lincoln Group, besides Adriana, there’s Savannah and Ernest. Those two aren’t easy either. They stayed close to Harold for years just to get their hands on Lincoln Group. Now that Denton has slipped out of their control, I’m worried they’ll turn on him.” The assistant was concerned that Ernest and Savannah might ruin everything.
“I heard Savannah killed Ernest’s illegitimate son. She and Ernest are clearly at odds now. Add a little fuel and let them fight it out first. We’ll strike when the time is right.” Maggie snorted.
Savannah and Ernest want to compete with me for Lincoln Group? They don’t even qualify. Hmph!
Barton Estate.
Rain poured outside the window. Adriana finished her shower and sat by the window, waiting for Curtis’s video call.
She missed Curtis so much.
The Barton Estate felt unbearably empty now. Her grandfather was gone. Chandler and Danielle were gone. Justin was gone too. In this massive house, it felt like she was the only one left.
Adriana knew she had to grow stronger and become independent, but she still missed Curtis badly. She wanted him to come back and stand openly at her side as soon as possible.
