Chapter 382 Let Me In

Anthony was out of options and could only sigh where he stood.

Outside the conference room, Adriana leaned against the door, listening in on their discussion, a faint smile on her lips.

Justin’s real goal was to get these people to slowly accept Adriana and make sure they finally started seeing her as the center of attention.

Relying on anyone else for support was a losing game. Rely on anyone else, and they’ll let you down.

If Adriana wanted to hold her own at Barton Group, she had to rely on herself.

Meanwhile, at Justin’s place, Danielle had been waiting outside for ages. No matter what she said, Justin’s butler, Nathan Bell, just wouldn’t let her in.

“Justin! Let me in!” Danielle was close to losing it. Her blowup at the design contest meant she was basically blacklisted from the industry. The only chance she had left was to beg Justin for help.

Inside, Justin leaned against the window, sipping tea, and watching Danielle wait out in the wind, a cold smirk on his face.

Danielle was nothing like the proud Barton heiress she used to be.

Things changed. Life never stayed the same. People who burned all their bridges and left themselves no safety net always ended up getting walked all over.

Justin didn’t care enough to push her into ruining herself, but he did want to see Chandler and Danielle walk right into hell on their own.

“Mr. Hotchner, it’s raining… Ms. Danielle is still waiting outside.” Nathan came in and said in a hushed voice.

Danielle had no other options left. Rain or hail, she had to wait at Justin’s door. Without Justin’s help, she was nothing but a discarded pawn to Chandler Barton.

Danielle could see her own future in Savannah’s story. Ernest had a secret kid out there somewhere. Chandler probably did too.

So all she could do was hang on tight to Justin.

Justin watched the rain outside and said nothing, his face impassive.

Danielle probably never thought she’d end up in this state.

Back then, she made Justin kneel out in the rain just to torture him. She never imagined it would all come. back around to her in the end.

“Send her home. I don’t want to see her today.” Justin’s tone was flat as he turned and went to his study. Out of sight, out of mind.

Nathan nodded, then went outside to where Danielle was standing in the rain. “Sorry, Ms. Barton, Mr. Hotchner won’t see you. He’s tired and needs to rest. You should go home.”

Danielle was drenched, but she stood her ground.

Danielle forced a smile. “Susan, you’re here just in time. I need Justin’s help, but he won’t see me. Can you talk to him for me?”

Meanwhile, at the Gill residence…

Maggie sat in the living room, drinking coffee as she watched the storm rage outside.

“Ms. Maggie, Justin let that Susan girl move into his house. Ever since he bought that place, no woman has ever stayed there,” Maggie’s assistant reported softly.

Maggie just smiled and sipped her coffee.

“And… at the design competition, Justin stole Adriana’s draft for Danielle, and he backed Danielle up in front of everyone. It seems like he and Adriana are done with each other,” the assistant added.

Maggie finally set her coffee cup down, clearly hearing the news she wanted. “If Justin and Adriana have split, Barton Group’s going to be in chaos. That’s exactly what we want.”

The assistant nodded quickly. “Ms Maggie, are you really going to let that fake Susan take your place? Justin is talented. If he were really on your side, you’d be unstoppable. Why let an impostor steal what’s rightfully yours?”

The assistant was clearly upset. The first love Justin remembered was actually Maggie, the Gill family heiress.

Maggie was the real Susan.

“No rush. Men’s feelings change fast. I want to see just how far Justin will go to protect this Susan… Maggie wasn’t in a hurry to let Justin know the truth.

She wanted to see for herself that he was truly willing to do anything for her.
