“Curtis reported the bullying incident from four years ago to the police on Adriana’s behalf. Now the cops have taken Mia in.” Matthew pressed his fingers to his temples, stress pounding behind his eyes.

His relatives were all breathing down his neck, demanding he sort it out immediately and get Mia released.

But he didn’t want to make things harder for Adriana cither.

On one hand, there was Adriana; on the other, his own sister.

Matthew felt trapped between two impossible choices.

“If Adriana refuses to drop it and Curtis is involved, getting Mia out won’t be easy,” Darren muttered. “Tell you what–Curtis is flying back to Haldoria in a few days. I’ll plan a casual meetup, let everyone talk this out. No need to wreck friendships over a girl, right?”

Matthew stayed quiet for a long moment before saying, “Darren, I think I’m losing my mind… I don’t want to marry Natasha anymore.”

Outside the private suite, Natasha froze with her hand on the doorknob, her whole body rigid, breath catching in her throat.

He had just said he didn’t want to marry her.

Darren gawked at the man. “You? The guy who’s been hung up on Natasha for years? You’re giving up now? After waiting this long?”

She blinked in confusion. Why was Curtis sending her things again?

“If there’s anything you don’t want, I can return it. But if you like them, I’ll organize everything in your closet and jewelry cases.”

Adriana stepped closer, stunned at the mountain of designer clothes and glittering accessories.

Was Curtis shopping like he owned the mall?

Her pulse quickened. She wasn’t sure if that made her shallow, but honestly, what woman didn’t like presents?

“I love all of it… “Adriana admitted, unable to hide her delight..

Curtis really did have great taste.

Still though, this was way over the top.

All she wanted was to fulfill her end of their contract. She never expected him to shower her with gifts.

“Mr. Lincoln … ” Adriana called softly.

“Did you see what I sent?” Curtis‘ calm, deep voice came through the phone.
