Adriana stared at Curtis in shock. Then she noticed a cut on his lip. “You got into a fight?”

“Yeah. He’s like a rabid dog, biting people first thing in the morning,” Curtis replied lightly.

Adriana drew a deep breath. He actually fought Matthew. That would’ve been epic to see. Too bad I missed it.

“You seem… disappointed you didn’t get to see us fight,” Curtis said, rulling her hair.

Adriana felt as if he were petting a dog–his movements were so natural.

In four years of knowing him, he had never been the type to act violently.

After breakfast, Curtis changed into a more casual set of workout clothes, his entire aura seeming to glow.

He was truly handsome, requiring no accessories; just sitting there, he naturally drew attention.

“Let’s go get some dessert balls.”

Curtis remembered how rough he had been with Adriana the night before, so today he figured he should buy her something sweet to make up for it.

Adriana’s eyes lit up, and her ears twitched slightly–she was clearly delighted.

She was simple that way; her emotions always showed on her face.

But after four years with Matthew, she had almost forgotten what it felt like to be carefree and happy.

As soon as they stepped out of the hotel, Adriana ran into Natasha and Matthew again.

Hotel staff were helping Natasha with her luggage, clearly indicating they were returning to Haldoria. Their car was parked outside, and Matthew opened the door for Natasha to get in first.

“Mr. Lincoln, what a coincidence,” Matthew greeted Curtis and Adriana.

“Heading back to Haldoria?” Curtis pulled a lollipop from his pocket and tossed it to Matthew. “I’ve quit smoking, so here, have a lollipop. My wife bought it.”
