My Accidental Billionaire Husband (Katia and Julian) novel Chapter 262

Mirul your own business

Katia

She wasn’t in her elegant luncheon attire today. She wore a rumpled, dark trench coat over her clothes, her hair wild and messy from the wind, her face completely flushed and blotchy under her smeared makeup. She had tracked Julian’s car. She had figured out that he had taken me here, to his grandmother’s house, and the desperation in her eyes was the look of a woman who had realized her entire social empire was slipping through her fingers.

She walked into the foyer, her heels clicking violently against the stone floor as she stopped ten feet from where Julian and I stood. She looked at Julian’s taped hands, then at the crushed gold card on the table, and then her eyes locked onto me.

The jealousy in her chest was a screaming, hysterical monster.

“What is she doing here?” Delia screeched, her voice rising to a high, raw register that echoed off the high-vaulted arches of the lobby. “Julian, she is a suspected murderer! Her name is on the front page of every tabloid in the country, and you bring her to Grandma Celeste’s house? You bring her here, under our family name, while she is hiding from the NYPD?”

Julian didn’t flinch. He didn’t move an inch to defend me, nor did he step closer to her. He stood like a stone pillar, his shadow completely engulfing the foyer, his face a mask of absolute, frozen contempt.

“Mind your business, Delia,” Julian said.

His voice was quiet, level, and carried a freezing, dismissive weight that shut the air right out of her lungs.

Delia gasped, her face turning a violent, hot red as she took a step closer, her fingers clawing at the air.

“My business? I am your wife, Julian! This is my family’s house! I stood in that dining room and watched you feed her. I watched you treat her like she was the one who belonged in your bed, and now you have the guards locking me out of your private studies while you use our legal team to bail her out of jail! I have a right to know why my husband is using his resources to protect a criminal!”

“You have no rights in this house, Delia,” Julian said, his voice/dropping even lower, turning into a cold, dangerous whisper that cut through her hysterics like a knife. “And you do not run this family.”

“I am the wife!” she screamed, her voice cracking, tears of pure, public humiliation finally spilling over her lashes. “You married me! You put a ring on my finger, and you are supposed to represent this alliance! You can’t just ignore me! You can’t just bring her here and expect me to stay quiet!”

Julian slowly took his hands out of his pockets.

He walked toward her, his strides long, heavy, and deliberate. He stopped two inches from her, his massive trame towering over her, looking down at her with a lethal, unblinking focus that left no room for negotiation.

He didn’t defend me as a lover. He didn’t give her a single frame of proof to use against us. He kept the boundary absolute, but the embarrassment he delivered was complete,

“Let me make the rules of this house very clear to you, Delia,” Julian said, his voice carrying a quiet, terrifying finality “I do not answer to you. I have never answered to you in almost two years you have lived under my root, and I certamly will not start answering to you now.”

Delia’s chest heaved, her lips parting in a silent, choked gasp of pure shock.

“Julian, please-”

“You will go back to your wing at the estate,” Julian ordered, his tone dry, level, and empty of all warmth. “You will stay out of my office, you will stay out of my sight, and you will mind your own business. If you cause another public scene, if you so much as raise your voice to Katia in front of my grandmother again, I will have the security team escort you off this property in front of the very cameras you paid to ruin us.”

“Julian, you can’t… you can’t treat me like this,” she subbed, her hatids shaking as she reached toward his sleeve, but Julian stepped back, his physical rejection of her touch complete and absolute.

“I can,” Julian said, looking down at her as if she were a nuisance he was tired of looking at. “And I am. Now, get out of my sight.”

Delia stood frozen in the middle of the foyer. The red-carpet wife, the proud Ket.sington sister, was completely gone, replaced by a screaming, hysterical woman who had just realized she had zero leverage, zero authority, and absolutely no place in his life She looked at me, her eyes wild with a lethal promise of revenge, but she didn’t dare say another word in front of the towering. murderous shadow of her husband.

She turned on her heel and stormed out the front doors, her heels clicking rapidly as she ran back toward her car, leaving the heavy oak doors to slam shut behind her with a loud, violent thud.

The silence of the lobby returned, heavy and cold.

I stood near the console table, my breathing slow, watching the spot where she had been.
