You Are Mrs. Windsor, Katia
Katia’s POV
Sam walked into my office and closed the door behind her. She sat down in the chair across from my desk and looked at me for a long moment without saying anything. I could tell from the way she held the folder in her hands that this was not going to be a short conversation.
“Well, it wasn’t easy,” she said finally. “Julian hides everything. So I had to fuck my forbidden fruit to get son info.”
I laughed even though my stomach was still turning from earlier. The sound came out a little shaky.
“Maybe you should just go official with him,” I said.
Sam leaned back in the chair and smiled.
“Well, where is the fun in that? I just want to fuck him only, nothing much.”
She opened the folder on her lap and looked down at the papers inside. I watched her face carefully. My hands f cold on top of my desk.
“The DNA confirms Windsor is indeed Aiden’s father,” Sam said.
I got up from my chair so fast it rolled back and hit the wall. My legs felt weak. I had to put one hand on the desk keep myself steady.
“So the man I had been fucking, thinking I was betraying my sister, is the same man from Vegas,” I asked.
Sam nodded slowly.
“There is more,” she said. “Julian is Jules the racer, and he is also the unknown racer you defeated in Vegas and many more races you had with him.”
I stared at her. The room felt smaller. My heart was beating hard in my chest.
“Wait,” I said. “He had been searching for Catwoman. He blocked Tessa Sterling from finding out who Catwoman was on the Brooklyn Grand Prix. Which means Julian had known I was his wife this whole time.”
Sam looked at me for a few seconds. She did not speak right away. She reached into the folder and pulled out another document. She slid the new marriage certificate across the desk toward me.
“He didn’t just know,” she said. “He went as far as to make you sign the new marriage certificate without you knowing. I’m not sure how he pulled it off because the marriage is still seven years old, but the names have changed. Instead of Jules and Kat, now it’s Julian Windsor and Katia Kensington. You are Mrs. Windsor.”
A single tear slipped down my cheek.
“He had known this whole time, Katia.”
I sat back down in my chair because my legs would not hold me anymore. The paper on my desk looked normal at first glance. Just another legal document with clean printing and official stamps. But the names on it were mine and Julian’s. The date was from seven years ago. The same night in Vegas I could barely remember.
My hands started shaking as I picked it up. I read the lines again and again. Julian Windsor. Katia Kensington.
Married. All this time.
I thought about every night he had slept next to me Every time he touched me like he had known my body for
years. Every look he gave me when he thought I was not paying attention. He had known. He had known and h never said anything.
Sam stayed quiet while I tried to process it. She watched me carefully like she was ready to catch me if I fell ap right there in the office.
I put the paper down and pressed my hands to my face. The tear on my cheek felt hot. My mind kept flashing be to Vegas. The lights. The drinks. The man whose face I could never quite remember. Julian. It had been Julian a along.
And Aiden. My son. Our son.
I thought about all the times Julian had looked at Aiden with something soft in his eyes. The way he played with him. The way he asked questions about his day. He had known Aiden was his child, and he still let me think I was sleeping with my sister’s husband.
The anger started building in my chest. It mixed with the shock and the hurt until I could barely breathe.
“He let me carry this guilt,” I said quietly. “He let me think I was destroying my sister’s marriage when I was with him. He let me feel like I was the one doing something wrong.”
Sam nodded.
“He played a long game,” she said. “I dug as deep as I could. The marriage certificate change was done through some private channels. Very clean. Very quiet. Most people would never notice.”
I looked at the paper again. Mrs. Windsor. I was Mrs. Windsor.
The nausea from earlier came back stronger. I closed my eyes and breathed through it. My hand moved to my stomach without thinking. There was another baby in there now. Another child with the man who had been lying
to me for months.
I did not know whether to scream or cry or throw something across the room.
Sam leaned forward in her chair.
“What do you want to do?” she asked.
I did not have an answer yet. My mind was still spinning with everything she had just told me. Julian was my husband. Julian was Jules. Julian had made sure I signed new papers without knowing what they were.
He had known this whole time.
I stood up again and walked over to the window. The city looked the same as it always did. People walking. Cars moving. Life going on like normal while my entire world had just been turned upside down again.
I pressed my forehead against the cool glass and closed my eyes.
All the nights he held me. All the times he told me I was his All the ways he acted like he owned every part of me. It was not just passion. It was possession. It was knowledge. He had been playing a game I did not even know
