Quincy went back into the ward. Rachel immediately sat up. “Dad, did you find Katherine’s phone? There’s evidence on it. If-”

She didn’t even dare finish that thought.

This was a huge deal now. Even Gavin, who was overseas, had sent people back.

If everyone found out she was lying, wouldn’t that embarrass Gavin and Lucas, the two people helping her?

Ursula said from the side, “Hurry up and check if that’s Katherine’s phone.”

Rachel’s eyes lit up. She grabbed the phone and checked it over.

“It should be,” Rachel said. Right after the incident, she had told Quincy to send people to look for it. It shouldn’t be wrong.

That made Elijah happy. He told her to sit down.

Not long after Katherine sat, Lucas walked in from outside.

Elijah was surprised. “Why is everyone coming back today? You’re not busy? You even came home for lunch?”

Lucas glanced at Lucian. He knew exactly what was going on.

“I’m not busy,” he said and was about to sit down.

Lucian stood up and pushed him toward Katherine. “Sit here. This couch is softer.”

Lucas looked at Katherine, and she happened look up at the same time.

Their eyes met for a second before she quickly looked away.

Lucas sat down next to her, and Katherine immediately slid over to put some space between them.

Elijah noticed and shook his head. “Katherine, this kid picking on you again?”

Katherine glanced at Lucas, then got up and sat beside Elijah. “Yes, you have no idea…”

Lucas sat there and watched as Katherine startei rattling off a long list of complaints about him to Elijah. Most of it was joking, though. She knew her limits and even made Elijah laugh.

If she had told the truth, Elijah probably wouldve been chasing Lucas around the house with a cane by now.

Both Lucas and Lucian had to admit that noboly knew how to cheer up Elijah like Katherine did.

A housekeeper came to say lunch was ready. Katherine helped Elijah stand up.

Just then, Lucas reached out and grabbed her.

She tried to pull away and shot him a dirty loo

Lucian saw that and smiled. To make sure Lucas felt like that sports car he gave him was worth it, he quickly helped Elijah walk ahead.

Katherine tried to leave, but Lucas grabbed her waist and pulled her back. He looked at her angry little face and raised an eyebrow. “You sure like tattling.”

Katherine put her hand on his solid chest and pushed him. “Let go. I’m going to eat.”

Lucas didn’t let go.

After struggling for a while, Katherine got tired She looked up and glared at him. “If you keep this up. I’m telling Elijah.”

“Go ahead.”

Lucas was unfazed.

“We’re husband and wife. What we do is none of her business.”

“Our marriage only exists on paper. She’s the one you’ve always cared about-your future wife. I don’t dare compare myself to her.” Katherine shoved him away. “So you’d better keep your distance from me.”
