Ethan looked at Julian nervously. Julian’s face was tense, but he held Ethan firmly and stayed silent.
Lucas was eating when he felt something bump his leg. He looked up at Katherine, who kept sneaking glances at him. “Why did you kick me?
Katherine was already on edge. When he suddenly called her out, she fired back without thinking. “Who kick-” She caught herself mid-sentence, realized something was off, and her whole attitude deflated.
“Right, I kicked you. I didn’t … mean to. Sorry.”
Lucas pulled his gaze back and didn’t say anything else.
Katherine quietly let out a breath.
She bit her fork, sneaking looks at Lucas from the corner of her eye. The man ate with effortless composure, unhurried and elegant.
The atmosphere in the room was strange. Only Lucas and blissfully oblivious Ivy were actually eating. Katherine and Megan had both completely lost their appetites.
Time ticked by quietly. Lucas set down his fork, picked up the water glass beside him, and took a sip.
Katherine watched him, as if checking whether he was done.
Sensing her gaze, Lucas looked up and studied her. “Thirty minutes. You’ve looked at me six times. Something on your mind?”
Oh, she had something on her mind.
But this man was unbelievable. He looked completely focused on eating, and yet he’d been counting how many times she glanced at him!
Katherine’s eyes flickered. She put on a forced smile. “Are you done eating?”
“Yeah.”
“If you’re done, can you step outside with me? There’s something I need to talk to you
about.”
Lucas’s brow furrowed, almost imperceptibly.
He knew what Katherine wanted to discuss.

Katherine hurried to stand as well, gave Megan a look, and followed Lucas out, remembering to close the door behind her.
The second they left, Megan and Ivy immediately ducked down.
Ivy whispered, “Ethan, Julian, come out quick. Bad Daddy’s gone.”
Two little figures crawled out from under the table, dusty and looking very sorry for themselves.
“Julian, Ethan, here.”
Ivy struggled to reach up with her little hands, grabbed her own plate off the table passed it down to her brothers.
Inside Ivy’s plate were two big drumsticks.
She’d been afraid Lucas would take them, so shed hidden them early on, saving them for her brothers.
Ivy pushed the plate into their arms. “Julian, Ethan, eat quickly. They’re so yummy.”
Julian and Ethan were deeply moved by their sister’s gesture, their miserable faces instantly lighting up.
Waaaah, Ivy is the best!
Katherine and Lucas asked the waiter for a quiet spot, and the two sat down facing each other.
Katherine didn’t beat around the bush. She took a prepared divorce agreement out of her bag, placed it in front of Lucas, and looked up at him.
“Take a look. If there are no issues, go ahead and sign.”
Lucas stared at the divorce agreement in front of him, his face dark.
Katherine went on. “Don’t worry. I didn’t bring much of a dowry when I married into the Grants, and I’m not asking for much in the divorce either. I consulted a lawyer on the asset division-everything listed is fair.”

Chapter 60 I’m Not Looking for a Divorce
“I have never thought about getting divorced.”
Lucas finally spoke, his voice low and heavy.
“What?”
Katherine didn’t quite catch it.
Lucas raised his deep eyes to look at her, and sal again, “Katherine, I have never once said I wanted to divorce you.”
This time, Katherine heard him clearly.
So what?
“Because of Grandpa?”
He had married her because of Elijah. Now he didn’t want a divorce because he was hurting Elijah. In Katherine’s eyes, that was the only explanation that made sense.
But Lucas replied calmly, “It’s not because of anyone. From the moment I married you, I never once considered divorce.”
Katherine was slightly taken aback.
At first listen, those words sounded deeply affectionate and responsible.
But when she thought back on everything that had happened, Katherine’s mind was perfectly clear.
If he’d never thought about divorce, then why hadn’t he treated her well? Why had he showered another woman with care and attention during their marriage?
So, never considered divorce? What a load of crap.
He didn’t want a divorce.
Fine.
That was his business.
